This is the only 'naysayer' who actually has an account that may be affected by the Corp. He has 1.5k total and 38mil xp.

This isn't just a random assumption based on Jagex having a secret desire to replace the shields with something else. From our point of view it's a piece of cake to do the shields unchanged, and it's far harder to seek a consensus on anything else. However, based on the tirade of "NO OP SHIELDS" comments that come up on our streams, and the messages I keep getting from people who don't want Corp because they don't want the shields... well, one gets the impression that there's something dodgy about those shields.

Now, if we launch a discussion and see plenty of support for the shields as they originally were, that's fine, and we'll happily poll that.

A quote from Mod Ash yesterday. Starting to think Ash is a spirit shield hater lol. Because based on this thread so far there is still a decent amount of support for spirit shields to return without any changes.

Please don't let a minority of players speak for this OSRS community by spamming "NO OP SHIELDS" on twitch... This is no more than a minority tactic to make you believe OSRS players don't want spirit shields. Honestly its like no more than 10 players everytime spamming "NO OP SHIELDS". The rest of us normal players just listen an enjoy the stream without the need to spam to voice our opinion. Personally I don't chat on twitch when watching the OSRS stream.

Bring out Corp exactly how it was, nothing more, nothing less. That'll be amazing! I honestly think Corp will be dead content if the spirit shields won't be with this update.

~ Bring out a little quest for it too that provides 4 quest points, this will put the cap on 250 quest points for a quest cape AND for Slayer it might be able to add an extra permanent block task?

Hi!

My fear is that adding in the spirit shields, nerfed or not, will devalue the new wilderness shields. I think that one of the best ways to prevent that would be to have the corp drop the sigils for the mage and the range shields, but then make is so that you can add the sigil to the odium and malediction ward to give it a damage reducing effect!

For melee, its kind of unfair to justify adding it to the obsidian shield, so maybe allow the corp to drop the melee sigil, and have that one added to the spirit shield?

Just a couple thoughts :)

Twitch is not a reliable source for how the game should be built. Give a man a microphone and all of his opinions become favored. When I hosted my 99 Def at 43 Combat, 300m OSRS community drop party. I offered to stream on the PC clans channels, for their amazing support of my goals. I made them agree; no donation or subscription button can be present while I stream.

"Pay me to watch me play video games" is immoral to me. I had 6,000+ captive viewers and over 2,000 follows within that short 2 hours. I never returned to twitch, it is not my place to be. I can say after 3 very successful and 3 only streams: When you say something into the mic, everyone agrees and is hyped.

It is all a part of the entertainment.

I'll most likely be voting no to this as I have no intention of killing it, and going off previous polls, people who have no interest in certain content feel the need to vote no to it out of spite, so hey ho, time to return the favour.

K794; It is upsetting, but reality. If we fear future updates because it will "devalue" an item, we will never progress the game. As mentioned on Page 8-1 (my full suggestion can be found there) I stated, I can solo every boss. There is currently little to no challenge within the game. We need to add more challenging PvM and begin adding more rewarding drop tables that have checks to current leading items.

Reminder: The Odium and Malediction Wards were described as MID LEVEL CONTENT in the Dev Blogs, Polls and Post-Release. Having counterparts for High Level Content is not a bad thing.

Opinions, we could fight for days
