I've always preached progression: Moving Oldschool to the future.


Let's stop fearing "over powerful" items. By adding armor and consumables to balance them, we can begin to introduce a new generation of PvM. As is, Oldschool is way too easy. I can solo every single boss in game and multiple times at that. Is it not time to move on? Do not fear the results of PvP, as I said we can add new armors and consumables in the veteran PvM drop tables.


My proposal:

-All Spirit Shields as introduced in the original update. (No nerf.)
-Corporeal Beast pet.
-Dark Energy Core pet.
-Dragon/Draconic Warhammer: may be similar in effect to the Statius Warhammer or a new and unique effect.
-Elite Clue Scrolls
-Tomb of Healing: Offhand book that has a time based effect of converting 1 prayer point to 1-4 hitpoints. (Effect can be improved upon by other player feedback.)


Think of this as opportunity. A game can only be so fun without challenge within its presentation. Nothing at this time makes Runescape challenging, only time consuming. Is it not time to introduce the future? Or should we fear the consequences and bash it every time it is within question?

Dear mod's The corp beast was and still is a very difficult boss to beat alone, and tbh the reason i didint finish summers end until i had over 210 quest points was because i wasent good enough to kill him yet so having a quest point cape requirment is just about perfect. As well as give's a boosted meaning to having the cape, and makes having the cape valuable. A true show of a player's power as an adventurer, and hero at there apex to take on a beast of terrible evil, and mystery. It's like a player fighting his/her polar opposite. So they should be Ready equiped with the quest cape, and the gear there learned to obtain to banish the evil, and claim what it leaves behind.

I would like to see it introduced on the Lunar isle. It's magic based and would fit nicely in an area off from the essence mine there. The only problem I can see with that is people doing the quest stumbling into it, so maybe make Dream Mentor a requirement. This sets it nicely behind some of the highest reqs in the game at the moment and it works thematically as well.

In terms of drops I would like to see new magic equipment, spirit shields with changed stats (no special effect) and a non-degradable version of the Statius Warhammer (named differently) with powerful one-handed stats similar to a whip and a special attack that reduces enemy defence by 25% but doesn't deal any more damage than a regular attack. This brings the utility of the *** without making it compete directly with the godswords.

In order to make spirit shield not overpowered, you obviously need to nerf it.

Heres what i suggest :

- Dragonfire shields have +7 str bonus and defence bonus
- Rune defenders have +4 str bonus and attack bonus
- A DIVINE SPIRIT SHIELD should have more defence bonus than a dfs but no strength bonus or attack bonus, but you can add prayer bonus ( +110 def, + 5 pray )
- SAME FOR ELYSIAN, except that the defence bonus will be a little weaker (+90 def +3 pray )
- we already have shields that act like arcane and spectral ( odium and malediction )
and for that i have no idea

Ooooh, new forum!

I have to agree that I don't see a point in nerfing the shields though. I don't think they were OP at all. If you have 1bil to spend on a shield, you should be able to get the benefits that 1bil costs. It's not as if they're suddenly going to flood the market either.

Be aware: Odium and Malediction Ward were introduced as "Mid-Level Content." Having a new High-Level counterpart is not a bad thing! I understand a few players are afraid of the past effects of the shield. I also understand that it is up to everyone, not myself, to build the future of this game. All I ask is that we think of what this update could do for us all. If we embrace a more challenging game I could almost promise a big pay off for doing so.

Absorbs 15% ranged 10% Melee 5% Magic damage. No pray drain
