I am a 18 year veteran and Gold Premier Club member, but I think the Loyalty Program is actually very bad to the new players. Some games with similar veteran reward programs, or even life time membership deals are in the process of revamping such programs, e..g Star Trek Online.

Anyway, more monetization options are in the favor of the players. Real world financial Jagex and other games' reports

I don't think there are really any other game out there where the loyalty reward is essential to being efficient at an important aspect of the game (pvm auras). So I agree with you, loyalty rewards should only be for small rewards that improve your gameplay or cosmetics, but currently, without zerk auras, you're playing splashscape.

Since the early 2000 the marketing model changed a lot for the free to play market mostly due to mobile platform.
Membership=>Pay 2 Win=>Pay 2 Customize=>Gambling.

The thing that bother me the most are:
1. GAMBLING REALLY???, I don't even play lottery.
2. The spare "Action Bar" in the Solomon's Store available with "RuneCoins" currency only and no option to use "Loyalty Points" on them, 100k-125k for each one of them would have been a fair option.
3. Jagex made a bad business decision by dividing RS3 and Os-RS player-base and going forward with the devs of both going opposite direction instead of trying hard to find compromise to please both and keep it all together cutting 50% the cost of everything.
4. The player-base has to pay for that bad decision which is like a growing cancer you can't cure.

That being said I don't wish them bad luck but they should sit back at the table and start from scratch with both player-base and design something that will please everyone.
I used to play RSC and RS07 I enjoyed it.
RS3 was a thumbs down to me I like a few feature of it but can't really enjoy the gameplay.
Combat wise "EOC" was a great idea but it's weak as you need quest to unlock some attack compare to the old turn-based combat system.
Useless skill such as Summoning just a waste of time, Taming with hunter skill would have done the job and no need of pouches or anything just a piece of food every 3 hours if you don't want it to leave you for mistreating him.
I don't play "Os-RS" as the thing looks ugly ASF and everything feels slow like Windows 95 with 500MB of Ram, 1 Core Processor at 1.5 Ghz and also because I want to keep my current progress.

So much thing could have been done in a better way.

I need to start really gaining gp so that I can buy bonds to pay for my membership at the end of the year instead of using real money from now on. I have some gp, but not as much as I would need. My battlestaves won't currently sell for a profit sadly. I will just need to get my gp up again by selling stuff.

You saying this is the exact reason why there isnt an option for loyalty points.

I mean theres obviously too much profit that can be made from them so of course theyd be rc only.

I agree, the loyalty system is another shady monetization aspect that offers powerful boosts. It's holding endgame pvm hostage to constant membership instead of being offered with in-game content.
Don't forget – RuneScape members get TWO free spins a day instead of the usual one!
