Runescape has been long gone since rs2 was over. Player counts have dropped dramatically from the height of 07' until now. You guys used to not have ENOUGH worlds available for people to play. I remember having to wait 5 minutes spamming world 2 and 6 to get logged in. Now its a ghost town. I go to different areas of runescape that arent grand exchange or edgeville bank and its legit a ghost town. I've lost my steam with the game because you guys have changed too many things and its really caused the player base to plummet which is the MAIN thing that makes a game fun. You can have a poop throwing contest game, but if it has millions of players, itll be fun. I think if you guys focused more on marketing to new players, quit redesigning plate armor cause you ruined it, and ditch the pay-to-level shit, I think youd generate more income. Having a bigger subscribing player base instead of milking the existing one and killing it is much better. using MTX on us might work for a little while but its short sighted and will lead to an ultimate failure. invest in growing the player-base and heavily push the memberships. That will pay off eventually.

Here is the thing Micro Transaction is something the old player base doesn't like; as the membership system was just fine. You guys made a loyalty points system to push the membership sales up and left it behind when "Rune Coin" and "Key" currency came up with RS3. Two different Micro Transaction shop the "Solomon's Store" which was (at the beginning for the Loyalty Points) and the stupid "Treasure Hunter" that I always have to click the X to close the darn chest in my screen. Two different currency for Micro transaction is just a bad idea to begin with. Membership lost its rewarding aspect at one points especially when you bring skilling suit that can only be earned through the "Treasure Hunter" using "Key" it's "Gambling" which is something I can't care less. "Key Token" can't be banked and/or claim when you got above X amount of "Key" is just a pain I shouldn't be forced to use my "Key" if I don't want to.
It feels like Jagex went head-less chicken with ideas and never got anything done to please the old and the new player-base. I can understand the struggle for money but at the same time if you don’t go the same direction as your “current player-base” your pretty much stuck developing 2 games even 3 when “darkscape” was online. “Os-RS” is great but you guys made too many changes between the 2 (Quest-Story, map, combat, skill and minigames) the hope to merge both player-base is gone to trash.

That being said micro transaction is a big no-no for me!

I am a 18 year veteran and Gold Premier Club member, but I think the Loyalty Program is actually very bad to the new players. Some games with similar veteran reward programs, or even life time membership deals are in the process of revamping such programs, e..g Star Trek Online.

Anyway, more monetization options are in the favor of the players. Real world financial Jagex and other games' reports clearly showed players are paying more and more through MTX.
