As soon as RS started running into problems, it should have looked at what made this game popular and profitable to start with. The roots of the game must have had something good going for it in order to have it grow so much within the first 5-6 yrs.
The challenge of a game is what makes it a game and the difficulty is what makes players wanting to complete it.
Anything giving players a free hand out to make it less of a challenge only shows to hurt the game in the long run.
This has been shown in all games as they rise and fall through out the years.
