Osrs developers are morons losing out on millions of dollars not having th. Osrs has been out for 6 years already. If they had treasure hunter in osrs 6 years ago they could have made millions. They decided not to. I guess that makes them idiots.

OSRS wouldn't have achieved the growth it did if it too would've ruined itself with predatory gambling; it was originally made for people who didn't want to play EoC, but for that purpose it didn't attract much popularity after the initial launch hype. Only when the MTX got out of control in RS3 did people start escaping from RS3 to OSRS to have a Runescape experience with game integrity, and it picked up from there with more refugees and returning players. So if OSRS would've also had TH-like MTX in place, those people would've outright quit the Runescape franchise altogether. :P

The kind of "predatory gambling" in online games the UK governments are investigating are actually the duel arena and 3rd party staking kind, not TH. :D

Stakers, don't worry though. They are just investigating more for the academic side. They are not going to shut down duel arena. Nonetheless, loot boxes with no real money player trading is totally not gambling, A My Friend! :D

Duel arena should be removed too. Or taxed.

Not in RS3 since nobody is found real world trading or advertising 3rd party sites. So it is still just legal "gambling" or simulated gambling. It is not going to be removed, and I doubt it will be taxed since participation in Duel Arena on the RS3 side is very light.

Rwt happens all the time in rs3. No one gets caught for it at the duel arena. You don't need to advertise anything.

Elite Stack, sure there are RWT in every more established online game. However, as long as those games make a strong statement RWT is not allowed in their games, whatever legal among other real world implications the RWTers inflict are not the responsibilities of the video game companies.

I think Jagex is fine when they made statements about game integrity and anti-3rd party skin gambling in OSRS. There is nothing wrong found so far in RS3. Of course it is fine. Nothing else needs to be done.

Yuck, Jagex practicing its scummy gambling ad spam again:

Key sales doing so poorly now that you gotta offer not just double but triple keys to get people to buy into your fake currency, Jagex? Maybe you should finally realize that the short term cash grabbing isn't healthy for the long term, and just go back to focusing on membership only; it'll be a win-win that way. You get your profit and we get an actually fun game! > )

So key sales was doing so poorly when Jagex gave double keys? So membership was also doing so poorly that Jagex had to add summer 3 for 2 sales and such?

Oh wait... both keys and membership sales have been going up years after years. All kinds of companies using "sales" and "promotions" to attract customers. The products don't sell will never even be marketed or offered any bonuses. That's probably why the Runepass experiment hasn't returned.

Biggest joke ever, that's why Fallout76 went on sale a week after launch because it did so well right? In fact, it sold so well that some outlets were giving it away for free by bundling it PS4 controllers.

What did Jagex added Premier Club, retail card promotions, Twitch Prime, 3 for 2 summer membership deals etc to sell RS membership? What did Jagex add Portable Vic to sell Bonds? Why did Jagex run SGS sales every week and keep pushing for deeply discounted Aura sales?

Are membership, bond and SGS all selling poorly? Biggest joke ever. :D :D :D
