Self Regulations in the USA have been in place, endorsed and enforced by the FTC. They are doing very well not just in the video game industry.

Loot boxes are just in-game purchase just like DLC content, subscription, bonds, skins etc. They don't require different notifications just like stores selling Baseball Cards, Pokemon TCG or Kinder Surprises don't have to specify "this store sells Baseball Cards, Pokemon TCG or Kinder Surprises".

If nobody wants the governments to step in, they won't "donate" to the politicians (note, individual politicians, not Uncle Sam or the UK Parliament) and hope for miracles that never happened. :D

What "greedy game publishers" can blame themselves for? Getting record breaking revenue and profits year after year but "oh no... that's still not enough... we need to earn more"? :D

Well, OSRS is seemingly going to get cosmetics and even more MTX through "partnerships":

OP, you called it correctly that OSRS would get (more than just Bond) MTX, but hey, obviously they did not reduce MTX in RS3 as I told you. :)

It's been confirmed that no mxt will be added to osrs at the bottom. Of course outside of bonds but bonds only contain membership and name change. Edit: The ceo himself said no mxt will be added to osrs.

Jagex can say cosmetics is not MTX just like they moved most of their bond revenue from MTX to Membership last year.

There is no definition of MTX. Even Borderland 3 said they have pay-to-get cosmetics but no MTX. :D

OSRS players, enjoy your cosmetics that you can obtain with real money. And then even better... buy pizza from Vapiano get Purple Skin. Buon appetito! :D

U ever hear about those people that start talking to people on the internet... and they start handing over bmoney... and like it's a scam... and they keep calling back promising something but never deliver... and they keep handing over more n more.. and then they're like, hang on, wait, that's a scam... it's a bit like runescape...

And that's the biggest scam.. members get it free later on... it's like a total fuck you.. after being scammed in a sense as mentioned above, ya have to PAY membership to access the shit they delivered that ya didn't even want... ya pay big for it now... pay to access it... everyone gets it free later once we sell it 8 more times and then 4 variants and 23 alternative versions... and whatever they want.

It's not a scam cos ya get exactly what u pay for, nothing. Skillet? Skill no.

So much moot.

So? That's no scam.

Just like the introduction of Bond. Players originally defied it strongly but then they liked it. Some players might still defy Purple Skin and Fashionscape but eventually they would accept it... and then more monetization ideas will come.

Don't like it, don't buy it. But when other people buy it, you just have to accept it. This is how capitalism and the free market works. The real world is always pay-to-win. Absolutely with everything on the right side of the Laws. :)

Football is pay to get the best players a team can. They don't need to fix a match. Better players give them better chance to win. Nobody goes to jail in football for paying for better players.

Football is pay to reward the best players. If you are a garbage player? You will be GONE (tm)! :D
