Remind me how long it took for tobacco to get regulated since it got commercialised. Remind me how long it took alcohol to get regulated since it got commercialised. Remind me how long it took for food to be regulated and when the FDA was founded.

Thank you for reminding Jagex and us Runescape players we don't have to worry about TH just like we don't have to worry about tobacco.
Why do we have to come back to "this thread" for whatever when IRL we can always go to the game everyday and enjoy TH?

Thank you for reminding Jagex and us Runescape players we don't have to worry about TH just like we don't have to worry about tobacco.

Yes, of course I am doing my part - just to play the game as a gamer, and pay for the game as a consumer. What else do we come to a game for?
I believe smart gamers and consumers know what to do in the game and with their wallets.
We also need parental guidance and in game purchase labels too. I strongly recommend them because they will weed out all the predatory game mechanism when the smart consumers who live in the real world guided by the unbeatable Darwinism know what they really want to play and pay for - Natural Selection.
In the end, the games unfit to survive will fizzle like RSC, with their staff getting canned and players looking for something real to do in the real world, like a real job, rather.

I've been sick for the past month and haven't check the forums. I'm glad this thread is alive and have included another article in how progress is being (slowly) made.
For the Tobacco and Alcohol debate. Keep in mind legislation was super slow due to a lot of moving parts (farmers, distilleries, bar owners) that congress had to do their best to please to keep getting votes. There was also prohibition that proved a huge disaster.
Unlike alcohol and tobacco products, there are a lot more people that are against loot boxes then for them. It is pretty much "land slide" legislation to put this monster to rest. In modern times people have been more against tobacco then 20 or 30 years ago, hence the rise of vape products.
If this bill gets voted into law before the 2020 election, I'll be surprised. I might actually break down and give 500 gp to the first gold beggar I see! (that is a huge deal, normally I cap out giving only insults to gold beggars and maybe 5gp if I'm in a good mood)
