Yeah understanding Jagex logic is like trying to teach Rocket Science to an infant, Tradable Rare in new terms is more anything with a relatively large pricetag, which came from some sort of event.
Back in 07 it was more of a limited term to Discontinued rares like Phats and Halloweens.

Why you say?
Because you touch yourself at night....and Jesus watches!
And @Delay, this is whats always being ranted these days, if poor or people without Rares don't have them, they are unhappy, and they complain about it, ofc forgetting the point of the word "RARE" as in not very common, not seen by many or on many, and limited to fewer than other items. I wish the concept was more appreciated in that sense of mind!

With all due respect but you make a real big deal out of the phrase 'tradeable rare' as if it means something magical. Not to Jagex's because they use whenever they feel like regardless if the "tradeable rare" will get a comeback anytime soon or not.

Jagex make an equally big deal about the phrase "tradeable rare". They make sure to highlight, bold, or italicize it whenever they use it to make the items seem 'magical' ooooooo.
There are only two possibilities here.
1) Jagex ignores their community and had no idea the phrase "tradeable rare" was already in widespread use.
2) Jagex knew that the phrase "tradeable rare" was in widespread use and unethically manipulated their customers by using it with a different meaning, without mentioning what this new meaning was.
Both possibilies make sense, but in the end of the day there is not one clear definition of 'tradeable rare' when used in the news posts by Jagex. It's just one of the many ways to advertise TH items. Sometimes it's ' tradeable rares', sometimes just 'rares' (even if tradeable), 'limited edition' is another one, and just looked up 1 past promo where the items were advertised as 'rare and valued'. Basically, Jagex uses it randomly and interchangeably for unique TH item/unlocks. The community has used this term differently, but Jagex decided not to follow this definition.
