It isn't derailment, your thread asks what is a tradable rare? and my response is they are mostly merchant-manipulated tools for profit, and not anything as you describe them. I have the evidence from those marketplace forums fully proving my point, and the more you visit the more you'd realize there is no pattern to the MANY different names showing up in recent pages.

I actually followed this research for months and you are trying to shut it down after not even days of your own research, if you've even done any. Just more assumptions it seems.

You should redirect that 'months' of research to learning more basic things, like the difference between a definition and a function.

If I asked what is a chicken, you would say 'they are mostly eaten'. Well great, so are fish, turnips, peanuts, grapes, beans, etc. With that 'definition' I could not identify a chicken if I had never seen one before.

Um... K.. ?

Definition of Discontinued rare 16 years ago: A unique item with a limited supply. (What's your definition?)

Definition of Tradable rare: same thing. But specified as tradable. Believe it or not, these are actually defined as discontinued items just the same. There is not a supply source any player can make. Fish masks and Christmas tree hats too. It is Jagex-dependent on expanding the item.

Just because they resume production does not defeat the purpose of the item. If a person wants a partyhat and can do the work for the color they like, or the highest they can earn.

That is their purpose, right? Get as many partyhats to show off as you can? It's a game, let people use the popular items in the game and have fun in a competitive way. (if they can). Why else would you buy a partyhat today, if not to show off and keep, or flip for occasional Large sums of cash? Flip any of the other remaining Discontinued Rares if you think you are such a skilled merchant.
