“I assume you disapprove of my relations with a young god?” Seren spoke with a frown. Zaros shook his head.

“No, I approve of him greatly. He and I are alike in many ways. We both value mortal life enough to willingly step aside, and to not force our beliefs onto them. Beyond that, he makes you happy. Other than the end result of Mah’s horrific control, I have never seen you so joyful. It is…nice.”

“If not that, then what?” Seren’s features scrunched in confusion, all eyes narrowing slightly.

“I want you to protect what you care about most from me. The next time I come to this world, I will be blinded by my own hubris and crippled by my insistence on swaying others through force. I will demand cooperation that you have every right to refuse me. Please, do not let my carelessness destroy your happiness.” Zaros’ voice was pleading, yet in the same reverberating monotone that he always spoke in.

“Zaros… Who are you really? The brother I remember would never say such things.”

“I am a version of your brother who was given ample time to think of his wrongdoings and mistakes, asking you to not enable the version of myself who is still making them. That is all that you need to know.*

“What is this about?” Guthix asked, as the two of them entered into a small garden that Zaros was not sure had actually been there before they entered it.

“I will be brief,” the masked god spoke. “In the year 159 of the fifth age, a human will befriend our most loyal followers, and will touch the Stone of Jas for the first time after discovering where it was hidden. This human needs to be marked as one of your own upon his birth, and when the two of you come face-to-face, it will be your decision about what is to be done, although the safety of Gielinor rests in that decision. “

“How do you know this all will come to pass?” Guthix remained skeptical about the situation.

“I do not expect you to blindly believe me; you have no reason to trust me given the how little you have known me. I have proof, but I will not tell you the truth of this world, for fear of worsening the situation. All you need to know is that many more lives will be lost if you choose poorly.” Zaros turned to leave, but stopped and turned his head to look over his shoulder at Guthix.

“You are a good person, Guthix, and Seren is happy when she’s with you. For that, I will allow such a relationship to continue. But take heed,” Through his mask, Zaros eyes flashed, “If you do anything to sadden her, or hurt her, your life will be forfeit, either by my hand or by that of my followers.”

Stepping into the main room, Zaros called out.

“World Guardian, it is time for us to leave. Although it is weakened, I have no wish for Mah’s curse to take hold. Besides that, we have work to do.”

The World Guardian, who had remained silent, for the most part inspecting the surrounding room, nodded, and when their hands touched, the world guardian rubbed the handle of the key, and they disappeared, Zaros nodding to the pair of gods before they did.

-------

*So,” Guthix began, “Your brother seems nice. Do you think we’ll see him aga-!”

Guthix was cut off by Seren tackling him to the ground with a passionate kiss.

Original message details are unavailable.
While he was stuck at home with his mommy, Guthix was busy doing the tube snake boogie with his sister(there's a reason that Guthix's symbol was thought to be a snake).

I think that if Zaros knew he might have felt differently about Guthix.

Of course Zaros would feel differently. He would be more approving of Guthix.

World Guardian, What is Wrong with You?!

I too was relieved to hear Azzanadra wouldn't die horribly to make a shell for Zaros. To me, it looked like he would want sacrifice himself to reincarnate Zaros, and stopping Zaros from ascending would require killing him myself.

I don't think I could have done that. Maybe I'll write my own story, a sort of "alternate ending" to that quest.

Temekel was a Kharidian Pantheon following Mahjarrat who died in Tumeken's explosion. No mention of him joining the Zarosian empire and I think he was too powerful for it to be anything else.

I might write a story about it later, I have ideas brewing.

Rise of Kinshra

The Fatum Imperia had grown in advancements and wealth that no other nation had ever managed to achieve before, and likely none will manage to beat in future neither – for the zarosians were always destined for greatness.

Cities grown miles wide in extension, full of the most varied and desired of the goods, full of wonders, full of gold; Fortress Keeps that would rival mountains’ heights and host legions so strong that when they marched the ground itself would shake; Farmhouses and Workshops that could single-handily produce more than a whole populace of the savage people that lived among the wild and dreaded lands outside the border walls.

Rich and powerful as they were, yet they could not avoid corruption from living among their homes. The humans were the most numerous of the races around, and although many had built up names and reputations to have themselves needed, many others did not.

Many were homeless, living among the alleys and streets begging for the help of the rich ones passing by. Those poor ones were ignored by the eyes of the vast majority, disgusted at their filth; but worse were the eyes of those who they did attract.

Those were monstrous races, of powers and dare unmatched – they hungered for the very flesh of those beggars to whom no-one would care about: demons would attack and devour them in mere seconds of immense pain, while vampyres would kidnap, and torture the poor souls as their blood would be drank until they ran dead and dry.

Fortunately though, the same powers that could drive the such terror could also gather the strengths to combat it. And so they did. It was under lead of the chthonian Duke Zelrock, ruler of the city of Kinshrayak, at west from Senntisten, that an organization would rise under the objective of fighting back those who dared break the law.

They named themselves the Kinshrak’s Black Knights Order, though by most of the populace they were known simply as Black Knights, or the Kinshra.

Indeed, truth to be told, many of high ranks present there had motives other than simply securing the order and glory of the Imperia: the chthonian lords, mates of Zelrock, were there for the inner alliance in-between them that could better control their avernic masses; while the vampyres in there were merchants of blood, who had to pay for human volunteers to willingly give out portions of their own blood – and they would demand great profits to come in return, and every human-kidnapper meant simply a loss of money.

But those were not all, and the great bulk of the organization was composed by human knights, people that truly believed in the sacred laws of the Imperia, and the rights of their own race. Quickly they had spread through the main regions of the Imperia, delivering justice to those monsters that would still dare on going on their men-hunt.

Eras passed on, with their fame and influence only growing within the masses of common folk, but it would all be put to test when all would change. In a quick and unexpected turn of events, the legatus maximus Zamorak had betrayed his own master, the Empty Lord, seemingly defeating him.

As the realm was cast in doubts, zarosian loyalists quickly came about, proclaiming themselves to hold the divine right or ruling, even without the existence of an Emperor himself. Priests and bishops became authoritarian kings, that cared little for the needs and desires of the commoner people, reverting all their resources and efforts against the rebels.

The population was immensely discontent, and with years having passed, they demanded the Kinshra to pick a definite side. By their headquarters at Kinshrayak, the ranks gathered, and discussed their fate. As no consensus could be reached, it was left to Duke Zelrock to decide with voting, which he decided every and any black knight member was allowed to take part on.

The human knights cheered, but the aristocrats feared, knowing of the obvious decision the human majority would make – to join Zamorak, whose philosophy saw every individual as primordially equal, shaped only by the own strength and will power they could gather.

So, before the voting was cast, the chthonian and vyres stroke fast. By the shadows of the night, they silently broke into the Kinshra Castle’s top, surprising an unprepared Duke Zelrock. He had no chance of reaction, and was coldly murdered by those whom he deemed brothers.

The patriarch’s screams were, however, heard by the human knights beneath, and they pledged for vengeance. Weakly geared, they rushed to attempt a counter-attack, but as they reached the castle top, they were met by endless demonic beasts just brought by the chthonians from their portals.

Half of them died, and the other half retreated into the further west, desperately looking for escape. But they were outran by the hellhounds, who surrounded them by all sides. From their giant circle a small branch opened through, making way for the chthonians lords to appear and start casting their ancient spells to bring those knights into an ever-torment.
