Did they say Zaros was protecting them? I find that hard to believe since there isn't really anything to protect them from. There's no way in hell Armadyl would make this deal with the guy who created Nihil. Also it wouldn't work as a choice because if Armadyl DOES fulfill his deal (and Kerapac has nothing to do with their agreement, he still turned it over), then Zaros would be stuck babysitting a bunch of birds for the rest of his arc.

Threatening them is much more logical.
Runescape doesn't need a hero...it needs a villain. An all encompassing force of evil that will remain ever-threatening and use chaos to make the peoples of Gielinor tolerate each other, grow strong together, and fight side by side against this evil. I am that villain.

Threatening the aviansie doesn't make sense with regards to the pact though. Both recipients have to get something from the pact. Zaros heals the mahjarrat for Zamorak in return for a favour. If Zaros threatened the avainsie then it's a lose-lose situation for armadyl. It also doesn't work with regards to if Seren takes the pact over. She can't rewrite the pact, just change the parties and she specifically states the aviansie will be safe I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend to be one of those deaf-mutes

It's also worth noting what Zaros says after he outmaneuvers Seren if they were both fully restored:

Zaros: Yes. When the time comes, you will have my complete support. I can no more change that than you can defy me now. But now, by the terms of our pact, you will give me the stone.

The question, of course, is exactly what event does Armadyl need Zaros's support for.

Completely up to speculation. Could be finding a new home or could be helping to kill Zamorak. I'm hoping it will come up in a quest soon though.

Looks like I have messed up the quotes. It's not intentional. My apologies.

It seemed to have something to do with the Aviansie. Very well, I stand corrected then....Armadyl, you poor thing, you were really thick enough to leave their welfare in Zaros' hands? We can assume Armadyl wanted protection for his Aviansie.

(If Zaros outmaneuvered Seren's plans to replace him the pact :)
Armadyl:
I knew you would use this now. I trust then that you will uphold your end?
Zaros:
Yes. When the time comes,
you will have my complete support.
I can no more change that than you can defy me now. But now, by the terms of our pact, you will give me the stone.

(But if Seren manages to replace him in the pact...)

Seren:
No. Armadyl my 'plentyn diniwed', I free you from his bargain and invoke my own. Whilst it pains me to do so, our geas must now be invoked.
Armadyl:
But my people?
Seren:
Will be protected.
Your bargain with Zaros is annulled, but I shall fulfill his obligations in his place.
Seren:
I have taken your obligation Zaros. Do you think I could not see the strands of fate you have woven between yourself and the gods present? You have always seen fate as a web. I have always known it as a tapestry and I have rewoven the strands so that you cannot take advantage here.
I submissively obey Lady Seren's every whim and relish every waking moment willingly serving her. She is my mistress and I am nothing without her. I am without thought, self-awareness, and being without her. She is my everything.

Zaros is immensely powerful, having someone immensely powerful agree to help you unconditionally lest they cease to exist is a very big deal.

Armadyl can barely do anything to help the Aviansie, but Zaros on the other hand has enough power to reshape Abbinah into somewhere hospitable.

It's weird that Raven apparently said Seren can't beat Zaros unless he's been weakened. With me she stole Saradomin's daughter, and thus Zaros had to give up the pact or he would die since he couldn't fufill his end.

Seren and Zaros were both at full power but I told Seren not to trust Zaros and got her and Saradomin to part on good terms so I wonder if that's what tipped the scales in her favor.
