I followed Guthix because I think mortals should be left to their own devices also I personally love the idea of a god who hated being one. Now I follow Zaros because I find that his philosophy is the closest to Guthix's. I might follow Seren depending on how her character is portrayed in the Light Within.
Balance within one's self
and
balance within the world
balance must be maintained.

Zaros seems to be the only god capable of acting with any hint of subtlety, operating from the shadows without putting himself in danger (excluding Sliske, but he probably isn't a god... probably). This M.O. gives him the best chances of success and survival. Patrolling Lore FC almost makes you wish for a Great Revision.

Quite simple, really:

Saradomin's goals, beliefs and desires parallel mine quite a bit. I agree with what he says and what he wants to achieve.

More importantly, however, he's the most useful god right now to leverage my own ambitions. The moment somebody else becomes more useful to me, I will be switching to them. My loyalty extends no further than that.

He's not.

I'm part of the Godless because it's the closest Faction to my own beliefs, even though I don't completely agree with their methods or agenda. As long as the Gods don't force their Ideals or worship on others then leave them to it. Or try to destroy the world, that isn't something I agree with either.

I believe in people making their own choices and destinies, not relying on some mythical being to fly out of the clouds to grant my every desire. What is the point if everything you want is simply given to you? There is no learning, no achievement or sense of accomplishment. Basically there would be no meaning to life, you would simply be existing.

And I say no to that.
HELL NO.

As for the other Factions having good Ideals, they ALL make good points in their own way. There is nothing to stop you from learning from all of them and variety is the spice of life.

Independence and self-efficiency. Once you've mastered yourself, then you can truly help others.
I'm Godless although I consider myself Independent/Unaligned I "We create ourselves through life. Every victory, every failure and every lesson learned from them... Make us who we are. Once we have lived life to it's end, that is when we realise who we are... or more accurately, who we were."

At the moment, I don't truly follow any of the gods, nor the godless. When faced with choices about who to help in a quest, I help whoevers talking the most sense to me. Guess this probably makes me quite unloyal by any NPCs views.

I often tend to lean towards Armadyl (I like his principles, although I believe them to be unrealistic and Armadyl himself to be naïve), Zaros (Saving the universe from the great revision must be a good thing) and Guthix (though I know he didn't want to be worshipped, I do like his ideas on balance. Guthix's philosophy seems to be the closest thing to what I "believe" in the real world.)

All the other factions rarely seem to be what I want, so I don't often help them. Though it has to be said, I don't often try to hinder them either.
If you only do what you can do, you will never be more than you are now.

While I have always admired the bane of tyrant for his goals. It was not until I really joined the following that I understood what we stood for. I found unparalleled communalism and unhindered growth, and finally I saw what the other factions truly stood for.

Saradomin: while he might try to be the protector of mortals, he has egregious methods.
Armadyl: a bloodthirsty yet weak willed god who will challenge anyone who disagrees with him.
The godless: more hypocritical than the Armadylians, seek to not have gods impose their will on others yet seek to impose their own on others?
Zaros and Seren: both more interested in fulfilling primal urges (control over live and death respectively) than in the well being of their followers.

None of the other factions have any amount of vision. Yet we do. We have always stood for freedom and progress, and we will not be stopped by anyone.

Saradomin is my choice! The more I learn the more I am getting into the Icyene and the Saradominist ideas! I think he is not only the best choice but the only choice for this world! He is an authoritarian which I like because I think too much indecision or too much democracy leads to nothing getting done, or progress being held up by bureaucracy.

Saradomin according to the writers is like a sheriff keeping order and taking on the thugs of the galaxy. I really like how he is protective of his people and that he is willing to immediately take a stand for his ideas and people. When I met him in the Death of Chivalry quest and he said he was here to lead us into a new age of prosperity and enlightenment I decided that was something worth advocating and fighting for!
You will learn that even the gods walk in darkness, and only Sliske knows the way.

I follow Saradomin, because I find his beliefs parallel mine quite a bit. He hates evil and will do everything in his power to fight against it. Some people would say that Saradomin has used distasteful methods to achieve his goals, and they would be right. But he does the things he does for the greater good, hoping to create a world where it will no longer be necessary to do evil in the name of good. A just world where the virtuous are rewarded and the wicked are punished. An enlightened world where peace and wisdom have conquered conflict and ignorance. To me, that is a world worth fighting for.

I also find Saradomin to be an interesting character. He's essentially a human who has obtained incredible amounts of power, and finds that such power is both a blessing and a curse. He wants to use his power to fix the universe's problems, but being human, he is flawed and bound to make mistakes. With the power of a god, his mistakes can have dire consequences, and he finds himself forced to make sacrifices, because as vast as his power is, it has its limits. However, his humanity is also what gives him his drive to do good and make Gielinor a better place. It is his greatest strength and his greatest weakness.

Oh, and he has the coolest looking stuff.

I follow Saradomin because he's the god whose philosophy I admire the most.

It's been stated that Saradomin is a very confident god. He's also unwavering, determined, ambitious and has some leadership. They're all qualities that I lack and I wish I had. That is what I seek in Saradomin's teachings.

I know he's got his bundle of downsides too. Some know him for being close-minded, self-righteous, oppressive and short-tempered. He may be rude, sometimes violent, but we can't blame Saradomin for being inactive. Many hate him for behaving the way he does and with good reasons too, but at least Saradomin pushes things forward.

Saradomin isn't a just god. He is an orderly and wise god. This involves being proactive in his decisions rather than reactive and also taking decisions for others when you know deep inside that you are right. There are times when everybody suspects something wrong to happen, but nobody's got proof to justify their claims. That's when people like Saradomin step in. They stop whatever was about to happen before it takes place. Obviously, one must consider all possibilities and weigh the alternatives to finally pick the wisest decision possible, but sometimes there is but one choice, as unreasonable as it may be and one must assume its consequences.

For example: Zamorak appears in Lumbridge. He gathers the divine energy around. He might have only intended to siphon the energy and leave right after, but there is a possibility he could have swayed the duke, captured Lumbridge, or even worse, all of Misthalin. Saradomin can't risk losing neither his territory or his people, therefore he battled Zamorak and forced him out of the kingdom. He might have lost a lot if he didn't act, but instead lost only a little by taking action. All what Saradomin lost in that battle was a part of his army and perhaps some respect from his rivals, who already hate him anyway. So, that's no big loss.

So, this is why I follow Saradomin.
