Hmm what god do i follow? Since completing desert treasure i have been a zarosian, eagerly awaiting his return. But after reassembling seren i now question zaros' trust. While still for the most part a zarosian, i mostly follow him because he is the only one with a plan to deal with the elder gods. So if anyone else has a better plan im all ears.

So i follow zaros and seren, while opposites they are also the the "same" and some of the only gods looking at the bigger picture of things rather than claiming territory and gaining followers.

I still find it odd that people even say Zaros even has a plan. I mean what he said in fot* basicly amounted to, I'm going to go wake up the elder gods and then ask them not to eat Gilenor. I really hope I don't need to explain why this is a horrible idea, but it's literally worse than doing nothing.

While you say you question Zaros' honesty have you ever questioned if his "plan" was nothing more than a fabrication? That he did just lie to you to get on your good side? Food for thought.

Well, he is a manipulator so why not? We already know he was lying about not reading the players mind without permission, and yet he knew that Sliske had told us about being able to sabotage him if we wanted to. So, even though I'm Zarosian, I take everything he says with a grain of salt... no harm in thinking for yourself rather than having your god think for you.

I've been having a hard time making my choice. I took a hiatus (from the internet in general) a few years ago, and as I research what's changed with the gods since then and quest, I find pros and cons with them all. I used to abhor Zamorak, but as I see more of him recently, he's definitely not the person I was imprinted with many years ago. More interaction with the Z.M.I has helped me make a better view of 'e*, too.

Saradomin? I've been kind of neutral with him the whole time. I'm still neutral to 'em now. He rushes into and assumes things a little too quickly for my liking, as well as having a little too much of the black and white view for me. Same with Bandos. The Goblins and such could worship 'em all day if they wanted, but I wasn't going to be carrying a Bandos-based hymn-inscribed war-mace with me wherever I went. He was just kind of "there" and known to me.

Zaros has been proving to be more and more interesting. I couldn't see what all of the hype was for him, until I'd done some of the more recent quests. He and I think quite logically, and I admittedly helped him gain some power during the quests - I figured a world ruled by him would be a little better than a world ruled by seemingly uncaring elder gods if push came to shove. ...I'm still not fully convinced, though. There's too much shadiness going on with 'em.

There are three that I"m pretty conflicted about. I like quite a few things about each of them, but not enough to make me go all the way as to worship 'em.

Armadyl definitely perked my eyebrow when I got to talk to 'em in person more, and talk to more of his followers.... though the fact that he is young and not as knowledgeable in things as the other gods puts me at unease. He doesn't seem to have many plans or goals (if you ask me) to save his / his followers' skins. Most importantly, he doesn't seem to be doing much to work toward taking back his little "Castle in the sky".

I've been a fan of the elves since when they were shrouded in mystery and hid behind hoods and the like. There was hardly any information on them. I had an elf name "Ionwe" for years and basically role-played an elf, despite Prifddinas being a big black mark on the map and there hardly being anything known about them. However, after finishing some of the recent quests, it doesn't seem like Seren wants to be worshiped, rather her teachings and the like be valued. If this is the case, then I'll respect her wishes and not worship 'er.

Now, Sliske, I don't know what to say about him. But, he's been quite useful in tandem with the player, and there's a definite love-hate thing going on. I am very interested to see Sliske's future and his plans for the player character. I enjoy his jovial nature, and liking to tell jokes. He best fits my real life personality, and I can relate to him the most. But, I'm not giving a donation to Relomia until (if) he becomes a god.

I'm actually cautious to put up any kind of serious justification for the Godless, considering how often arguments tend to break out around a mention of them.

But regardless, to put it simply: The Godless come closer than the other factions to my personal ideal. There is a certain independence that we have that no other faction can boast, and while I'll recognise that this has led to infighting and disagreements on large-scale decisions, there is a sense of liberation in the idea of forging one's own destiny, mistakes and all, rather than being eased or guided to a controlled solution.

Also, we also have the fittest emissary, yo.
Nobody exists on purpose. Nobody belongs anywhere. Everybody's gonna die.

Come watch TV.

I believe in looking out for the weak. Also the strong most of the time do need the weak. When the weak turns against the strong and refuses to serve them anymore, to band into a group and take down that "strong" individual. Their status is no good to them. The weak don't need "the strong" but the strong need the weak/downtrodden. If "the strong" treats the weak like **** they have a right to rise up and overthrow them. This applies to mortals and not just gods.

1. The Queen of Ashes is speculated by many to follow this ideal. If it's true I may follow her, it's also been confirmed she will be getting a faction so she can't be all that bad. What happens if she is a militant opposite of Bandos/Zamorak's "the weak should die"? And endorses the weak revolting as well as possibly taking revenge on "the strong"? Or her cause is even able "hating the strong" or viewing all with suspicion? "Recruiting the doentrodden to her infernal cause".

2. Saradomin is strongly hinted to follow this, so is Armadyl to an extent possibly(not sure) and Seren. He might be more militant and follow this trope of looking out for the weak most strongly.

So any other Q.o.A fans here?

The OP bumped this thread I think or I didn't read the posted it was posted on. No idea but giving my part.

Interesting, I was Zamorakian last time I posted here. :P

I'm with the Godless now, not because I want to kill all the gods, but because I just can't decide on a faction. I've been a Saradominist, a Zarosian, and a Zamorakian. I can't seem to stick with one side because every god's philosophy seems to be at least somewhat valid to me. Factions also don't really seem to make sense with all the things our character has done. Why would a Zamorakian help Saradomin stop the Kinshra? Why would a Saradominist help Zamorak steal the Stone of Jas?

Of course all this could change if the gods get some more quests to make them look good; I basically joined Zaros because of Fot* and Zamorak because of DaT. I guess I'm just easily persuaded.

At heart, I am a Sliskean, because I am an unrepentant scumbag troll that loves a good laugh, and wants people to enjoy their lives.

I enjoy helping the needy and the poor get off their asses if they physically are able to and get back to making gp learn how to make gp (Slayer, Grand Theft Prifddinas)

Plus, the recent VIP Q&A told us that Sliske does have some positive motivation for what he does.
Updates are hard to make, especially when it's a solo project, so raging against the mod will get you nothing.

You should join us Independents then. Pick a faction your ideals match most closely and flag yourself as Independent/Unligned.
I'm Godless although I consider myself Independent/Unaligned I "We create ourselves through life. Every victory, every failure and every lesson learned from them... Make us who we are. Once we have lived life to it's end, that is when we realise who we are... or more accurately, who we were."

Such a interesting topic! Well, i used to follow Saradomin with all my heart, but with the new quests i started to lose faith in him and actually hating him. Before he represented to me a way to a better world, where everyone could live peacefully, but that changed. So i stopped following him and there was i, alone in a dark corner with no faith, until i saw a interesting name, "Seren".
I started to look all around the internet for more information about her, and every single thing that i read about her was amazing and for me was like love at first sight. She was everything that i thought of Saradomin. She wants peace, she wants that mortals live their lives how they want to, hell, she doesnt even want to be our god, she consider herself more like a guardian. And to end it all, Jagex made the Light Within quest and to be able to see her in "Real Life" (Dont judge me i like to roleplay ;- ;) was amazing. So i decided to become one of her followers.
Well, that took long enough. Love this topic, keep the lore train going guys! Peace.
Follow your heart, the rest will come.
