¤ The crescent-shaped
Lunar Isle
is home to the Moonclan, founded by V------ after a schism formed within the Fremennik people after the discovery of runecrafting in the First or Second Age. Protecting the astral altar and living at piece with the Suqah, their life depends entirely on magic. Having been using it in proximity to the rune essence mine for so long, they no longer need runes for some of their magic and can usually be found floating rather than walking. The northern part of the island has an arctic climate, unlike the middle, where the Moonclan's town is located.

¤
Miscellania
is one of the Fremennik islands in the Lunar Sea. Although the two kingdoms previously had a rivalry, it is now part of a kingdom along with Etceteria, ruled by King Vargas, Queen Sigrid and their regent. Some of its population lives beneath the castle, where humans and dwarves have built a village.

¤ Named after its first king,
Neitiznot
is one of the two Fremennik Isles in the Lunar Sea and in a feud with its neighbour Jatizso. The town on it is made of wood and its people make heavy use of yak( product)s in their daily life. Despite the assassination of the Ice Troll King, the island is still at war with the dangerous ice trolls just north of it.

¤ The
Pest Control Islands
are an archipelago of tropical islands in the Unquiet Ocean that appear to have been Marimban territory once. In 5.149 however, Melville Grayzag began experimenting with portals on them, which caused the Void Pest invasions that persist to this day, combatted by the Void Knights.

¤
Pirates' Cove
is a small island in the Lunar Sea where the Lady Zay is docked if not at Lunar Isle. It has a few icy hills.

Rock Island Prison
is a gaol in the middle of the sea, east of Karamja, commissioned by the Customs and Excise Office. It is said to be inescapable (and it is unless you are put in that one cell which has a massive hole in the wall) and used to incarcerate pirates.

¤
Soul Wars Island
is a large unofficially named island west of the Feldip Hills where Nomad built the Soul Obelisk. It is the site of the 'soul wars' he organised, a business which his imp Zimberfizz has since taken over. The island is very swampy.

¤
Tutorial Island
was an island where adventurers were trained just south of the Wizards' Tower, but it has mysteriously disappeared for some reason. It had few interesting features.

¤ Built after Admiral Boyce Khael decided to sent the bulk of his troops to combat the pest invasions in the Unquiet Ocean, the
Void Knights' Outpost
is, unsurprisingly, the headquarters of the Void Knights as they fight the void pests.

¤
Waterbirth Island
is a crescent-shaped arctic island in the Lunar Sea which has been taken over by the dagannoth, with many Fremennik going there to slay them. There is a vast network of tunnels and caves beneath where the dagannoth, as well as rock crabs, rock lobsters and wallasalki, have their nests.

¤ Located in the Eastern Sea, the
Wushanko Isles
are an archipelago that form the westernmost part of the fabled Eastern Lands. They consist of various regions - The Arc, Skull, Hook, Scythe, Bowl, Pincers, Loop and Shield - each containing about half a dozen of islands with vastly different cultures. Sirens, sea singers, sea monsters and other such creatures are known to inhabit the islands and seas. Most islands are ruled by a khan.

4.3) Cities, towns and villages

¤ The emirate of
Al Kharid
is a large town at the northern fringes of the Kharidian Desert. Most of the history remains unknown, but it appears to be a seemingly old settlement. There is a secret agency led by Spymaster Osman (former Captain of the Palace Guard) who has agents all over the desert. It is ruled by an emir, although there have been sultans as well. A fair few decades ago, Al Kharid was engaged in a bloody war with Menaphos, but thanks to the lesser deities a peace was established by the Emir of Al Kharid and the Pharaoh of Menaphos, a follower of Het. In 5.169, however, Ambassador Jabari of Menaphos attempted to take over Al Kharid by assassinating the old Emir while there was no heir to the throne and establish a Menaphite government, but this was really part of Amascut's scheme to obtain the Kharid-ib and Emir Shah's son Prince Ali was found and succeeded his father.

Ardougne
was a city founded in 5.7 when a group of Saradominists led by the Carnillean family purged the Mahjarrat warlord Hazeel from the area, allowing a city to be constructed. As the leaders in the Battle of Ardougne, the Carnilleans would govern the city. In 30, an outpost was constructed to the north of it as a watchtower but was soon abandoned as there were no threats. In 95, however, a gang of Zamorakians, amongst whom Drozal, took up residence in the tower and began causing havoc in the city, which led to the Dreaded Years of Tragedy. Only three years later did Ardougne finally have enough of it, sending an army to confront the Zamorakians. What is known as The Great Battle ensued, eventually leaving only two survivors, one on each side, and both said to have been old friends. The two settled their religious difference by becoming Guthixian (if all conflicts could be resolved that easily!) and one founded the market of Ardougne to promote trade and economical growth while the other became the first King of Ardougne. His family, the Ardignas bloodline, rules to this day. The city was prosperous afterwards. The second king, Mad Narras, invented the hangman game, which involved actually hanging people who lost, so as to promote literacy amongst the Ardougnese people. He was succeeded by the fair King Ulthas, who welcomed King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table to Kandarin (the kingdom founded in 5.101 of which Ardougne had become the capital) to Gielinor from Britain in 5.132. Ulthas died out hunting in 5.136 and was succeeded by both of his sons, Lathas and Tyras, but not before declaring that they should split the city in two parts; Tyras came to rule West Ardougne while Lathas, who became extremely angry that he was denied his birthright as the eldest son and had to share the kingdom with his "idiot younger brother", got East Ardougne.

It was not until approximately 5.167 or 5.168 that Lathas secretly allied with the malicious Iorwerth Clan of elves, helping them return their Dark Lord in return for supposedly receiving help in the destruction of Camelot, Arthur's castle, for Lathas could not stand that the Sinclairs had given up their castle in favour of a "so-called king" who arrived from some other realm. The Iorwerths convinced Lathas to let their Death Guard take over West Ardougne in Tyras' absence (he had gone on an expedition to the elven lands) and their over-exaggerating of the threat that Lord Iban posed to Kandarin made Lathas allow them to do anything. As a result, the Death Guard faked a plague in West Ardougne and had the city walled off and quarantined so that they could gain a foothold beyond the Galarpos in anticipation of the Dark Lord's return (although they soon discovered the Temple of Light, a much more important reason to stay there). West Ardougne has since fallen to poverty as the Death Guard spread fake symptoms and made its people ill, effectively ruling the city instead of Tyras' cautious and drunk city warder Bravek. In the Sixth Age, however, Lord Iorwerth discovered that he could not use the death altar and formed a new plan: the Death Guard would kill the entire population of West Ardougne to produce the necessary death energy, a plan with which Lathas happily agreed, planning to turn the city into his personal garden. That same year, a revolution was launched in the west in an attempt to stop this plan; the mourners' identity and plans were revealed to some of the fiercer citizens and together they stormed the Mourner HQ after getting support from the Ardougne City Council. The mourners, including their leader, were all defeated when the Royal Army of Ardougne became involved. Bizarre Boron Fusswell, scryer extraordinaire. Upon seeing the council's seal, the Knights of Ardougne, along with the Order of Heroes, went to take over Lathas' castle while the Warrior Women and the Holy Order of Paladins defended him. The knights proved victorious, however, as Lathas was removed from power (and later devoured by the Dark Lord). The army then invaded West Ardougne, evicting all of the mourners and allowing free passage between the two halves of the city once more. Most of the city had been turned into dilapidated slums, which had all been blamed on King Tyras by the citizens until the truth about the mourners was revealed. Lathas' cousin Thoros succeeded him as the King of Kandarin. Meanwhile, the East is as prosperous as ever, with a popular zoo, multiple inns and a thriving marketplace. Arposandra
, which is Old Gnomish for "Rock City", is a city hidden beneath the Galarpos Mountains founded by Glouphrie the Untrusted in the late Fourth Age. It was after King Healthorg the Great banished Glouphrie at the end of the Fourth Age for the murder of Argento, the silver spirit tree, that Glouphrie swore to avenge himself and founded the stone city in the mountains. He later returned after Healthorg's death, disguised as an advisor to help Bolrie win the elections in an attempt to attain power, but he was exposed (this time by Yewnock) and fled back to Arposandra. The city is experimenting with terrorbirds and tortoises, using special machines to warp them. Mostly they fail, but rarely an creature with human-like intelligence is created. Over two hundred intelligent warped terrorbirds have since been created. The failures are dropped into the massive sewers below the city, which empty into the forest of Isafdar, tainting the land and creating a large Poison Waste in the southern part of the forest. Gnomes are also being trained in the city to have the ability to become invisible. It seems the city is preparing itself for a war against humans. Glough, the former guardian of the Grand Tree also attempted to start a war twice in 5.169 but he was stopped and placed under house arrest, suggesting a link between him and Arposandra, which is further supported by a text in Old Gnomish a Fremennik once found. That same year, Arposandra sent several evil creatures, disguised to be adorable with illusion magicks, to spy on both the Tree Gnome Stronghold and the Village, but these were discovered and killed.

Currently, someone named Glou(c)k is in charge of the city and Glouphrie's name is a taboo - what exactly happened is unknown. After Bolrie's disgrace at the gnomish elections he was exiled and made it his life goal to find Arposandra and deal with Glouphrie. With the help of the elves of Lletya, Bolrie managed to get inside the city but was captured and incarcerated until freed by his daughter Golrana and an adventurer in 5.169, who entered Arposandra through its air vent. Arposandra also had an alliance with the Red Axe, who were trying to conquer Keldagrim, and supplied them with machines to turn dwarves into chaos dwarf as well as technicians to operate them, with Ambassador Laneel occasionally visiting to see the results. He was also the one who had supplied them with the ogre shaman Grunsh, whom he had kidnapped from Gu'tanoth and forced to wipe his own memory. After the Red Axe gave up on its plans in late 169, all ties were severed between the two.

¤
Askroth
was the capital of Naragun and many Naragi lived in it. It was levelled by Saradomin when they refused to worship him and he built a fortress on top of its ruins.
