What I always like to point out is the Goebies. That race is near useless, barely able to exist without falling over or crushing themselves. But for some reason the Airut and Tuska enslaved them. If they enslaved a useless race like that, wouldn't you think it'd be better than to enslave something more useful like the Naragi?

That's where this falls apart. We have evidence of Tuska enslaving races. Also there's evidence that Skargaroth had no followers and was lone gunning it. Kinda hard to genocide effectively by yourself. Then we have the laundry list of all the genocides Saradomin committed.

Saradomin killed the overwhelming majority of the naragi; men, women, children (:^)), and elderly. By the time Saradomin left there were too few to even worry about which is why they had gotten wiped out by the end.

But anyways I'm hungry going to go grab so Ravioli. But anyways, always remember, "ravioli ravioli, Saradomin's dead next world eventioli."

An interesting read. I do disagree on some of your points.
If Saradomin wanted to make amends for destroying Askroth then why did he leave the naragi to be killed by Tuska and Skargaroth? If he couldn't defeat them he could have opened a portal for the naragi to escape to another world like Armadyl offered to the feline race.

Saradomin barely knew Sir Owen. To claim he wanted to save him as if they were best friends is not true since Saradomin distances himself from his subjects. He cares for them as servants and subjects not as friends or comrades. He doesn't even see himself as a human.

The incident with Garlandia is barbaric and cruel. She spoke up against his point of view and he made an example of her for his supposed greater good but the lesson here is Saraomin will not tolerate anyone speaking up against his decisions.

You say he isn't arrogant yet if you talk with him about the other gods and important people he will have low regard of all of them. He sees himself better than all of them that is the definition of arrogance.

Many posters here have forgotten or perhaps did not know about a key element of this story. There were many gods on Naragun, not just Saradomin, Tuska, and Skargaroth. Many died over the course of the war between them. Guthix himself was witness to this and his testimony was as follows.

~The gods fought relentlessly, and as more and more came, the fighting became more vicious. A war broke out and lasted for centuries. The world was ravaged and the population decimated. Do you know who was the victor? No one, no one emerged triumphant from this ordeal. My people were killed. All my friends, my family. I was left to stand alone on this desolated plane, with memories of what my life had been. <Player> What about the gods? many died, many fled .~

It is clear from this that Saradomin alone was not the cause Naragun's destruction. Very often I see people interpret and speculate on the memories of Guthix however, what is often overlooked is that the memories are snapshots in time and do not contain the full story. From this information we can therefore conclude that Saradomin did not wipe out the Naragi in a genocide, but they were instead however, an unfortunate victim of a god war persisted for a long period of time.

Saradomin is really a normal human being who saw many things. He has his faults, but one good thing is he recognises virtue which he says "retains its value through scarcity." This is just humanity personified.
Virtues are culturally relevant like morality its up to debate on what makes a virtue. There is the four cardinal virtues. 1 prudence 2. justice 3. temperance 4. courage. 3 examples of theist virtues are 1 chastity. 2 hope. 3 faith. as a atheist I could care less for theist virtues.

What if he was too busy focused fighting Tuska and too weakened/wounded to open a portal? You forget he was in a situation where he thought he would win the fight and at the same would would have probably died if he hadn't fled upon being defeated.

And Sir Owen wanted to be saved by Saradomin so he could continue serving him. His not arrogant intentionally, he has seen the rise and fall of countless societies to chaos so came up with his own strictly to be followed steps to stop each process in each case.

If you sided with him he clearly states he respects the ideas of the other gods' ways but thinks unfortunately they will ultimately fall to chaos/will not last. Even Armadyl says he acts arrogant out of genuine care.

Saradomin was in an intense situation in which not fighting back would mean the entire colony gets destroyed by them, you've never been in that situation.

Padomenes that is speculation on your part. We do not know if he was wounded and frankly I can't see how a sentinent god could lose to beast god who follows its instincts. Saradomin knows how to fight Tuska doesn't, also even if its true he could have healed then gone back and opened a portal.

Stop defending Garlandia's mutilation. I get it the "devils" had to be destroyed but proving his point through crippling a pacifist is cruel and unfair. You wouldn't defend the act if it happened to someone you cared about.

Then he'd be dead.
Runescape doesn't need a hero...it needs a villain. An all encompassing force of evil that will remain ever-threatening and use chaos to make the peoples of Gielinor tolerate each other, grow strong together, and fight side by side against this evil. I am that villain.

About the wing ripping... I remember when you (sky jexel) said garlandia deserved it because she abandoned the people in their time of need. But as it turns out she was just a pacifist offering her opinion on what she thought would be best. I find it hard to imagine that saradomins only choice to save the icyene was by ripping her wings off. It was quick and effective but surely saradomin could have made a compelling case convince garlandia that the peaceful approach would not work on the enemies. The world guardian would certainly have explored all his/her options. Justification is such a easy thing to do, my biggest problem with saradomin is that he has a single minded way of approaching things.

He probably could. But Saradomin's line of thinking is "sacrifice the few to save the many". To do this takes very quick thinking indeed, perhaps too much to consider a peaceful approach if all he had seen was ruination and great civilisations falling, as Padomenes told me once. The case may be that the Icyene were at war with barbarians who wouldn't even entertain any thought other than fast and ruthless guerilla strikes to tear their prey apart, so my belief is that Saradomin counters this by quick thinking of his own, based on his experiences.

Actually, it was the Airut who enslaved the goebies and Naragi, not Tuska. Tuska was basically a giant pig who just dug into planets to eat anima like truffles, and the Airut are basically fleas which jumped aboard her after she tore open their homeworld and ate the anima inside. They reaped the benefit from what was dug up, hitched rides with her since.
