Let's just delete the slug and Arthur quests in one fell swoop.

Yer kidding, right? The slug quests, bar SitW obviously, are great and it's a really interesting series. The Arthur quests are also quite fun, especially King's Ransom.

In terms of being promoted as a reward for the quest, may I please direct you to my signature?

I thought they were hesitant before to release the next tiers of Temple Knight Armor because of how powerful they'd be pre-eoc?

Could you imagine rune stated armor with more prayer bonuses than Proselyte pre-eoc?
With Pros, and the cheapness of it, you could camp just about anything and use protection prayers all day. With Rune class and better, you could do it for even longer using up less prayer pots.
Oh yeah, it would also have been melee armor, thus another argument for meleescape.

I do have a proposal on RuneLabs - the link is in my signature - for a Bik quest, and Salt in the Wound would be a requirement. The details are admittedly vague as it stands, and I'm willing to change it, but I thought I might as well bring it up in the off chance that it could lead to a quest that fixes some of the problems from this quest.

As much as I'd like to see this abomination completely reworked, I don't see Jagex having the time or resources to do so, let alone prioritize it over new quests. The fact that some geniuses were laughed at does not imply that all who are laughed at are geniuses. They laughed at Columbus, Fulton, and the Wright brothers. But they also laughed at Bozo the Clown.

Nope, not with the current amount of quests being released. It'd've been possible before 2013, I imagine.

I remember that in one of the livestreams, someone said that they still had cutscenes that were developed for the continuation of the questline - which was obviously abandoned with SITW.

The creator had planned to have the sea slug invasion really take off en force, with quests in different areas fighting off the sea slugs.

One of the cutscenes was you arm-wrestling a Fremminik warrior, whilst another involved you being brutally beat up in an 'interrogation' by the Temple Knights.

Let us take a moment of silence, to reflect on what might have been.

Because it had the potential to be frigging amazing.

I'd support a runelabs submission for doing so, after Rite of Passage ofc.

A frustrating aspect of this quest is that the developers did work very hard on certain aspects of it. Controlling a party of characters had not been done before and would have taken a lot of development work. Unfortunately the code they used has not been updated sufficiently and the party mechanics are horribly buggy in today's client (artefacts, frequent relogs and simple crashes that required task manager to terminate the process; were common)

I'd love to read a developer's post-mortem style blog about that quest because the coding required for the party system must have meant that jagex had big, big plans for the quest at the start of it's development. Plans that then seemingly fell apart midway and resulted in the rushed and poor story-telling of the quest.

From what I heard, SitW, and maybe it's wrong, but there was a chance that it wasn't going to be the final quest, but just ended up that due to the backlash. The original story was going to be very dark and the ...Temple Knights I think,,, were going to show a very dark side of themselves. I think torture was mentioned. Though this could all be rumour.

But what it's just rumour is that they has something planned on a global scale and it involved inserting their own people into positions of power. The Advisor to the King of Varrock is one such person, or they were supposed to be.

But it seems that the storyline was to be terminated at the last moment and we got what we got. While it's not impossible to carry on, the questline has ended and something else would have to be used to move forward I think. Something like The Guild of you! Though a quest line, a new one, could be opened I suppose.

Yeah, those rumours are correct. At least, that's what Mod Chris LC was planning before he left.
