It also depends on what's in the purse.

What if it's an Elder Artifact? That purse snatcher just unlocked potential godhood.

I completely agree. I am concerned they are actually going to wake the elder gods just next year when we have barely begun their quest line and I said just that in the survey feedback. This supposed hype makes us sound so fickle. Look how long it took to build up Zaros, the hype will stay strong if people are genuinely into it. The main storyline is hands down my favorite and some of the only I feel completely immersed in while playing the quests, I am looking forward to a Pirate quest not at all, but Ill take the Pirate quest if it means letting the Elder Gods line brew some more.

How can you not be looking forward to a Pirate quest tho?
Anyway yeah. It's certainly developed pretty quickly.. or so you'd think. Truthfully, we've really only had two quests that have focused at all on Elder Gods. Fate of the Gods was mainly all about Zaros, but introduced the first in-game Elder God, Mah. Not too long after that we had Heart of Stone. Since then, the focus has broken away...
I wouldn't worry too much about the Elder Gods next year though. My guess is it's probably pretty low on the Survey right now..

Actually, Mod Wilson sorta threw his Pirate quests into the frontrunner position with the Xau-Tak lore he dropped in Kindred Spirits. From what I've seen on Twitter from Osborne, Raven, and a few other Jagex employees, they 5th Age quests are actually up there. A

If they are going to tie Pirates into the rest of the storyline more (even obscurely...actually obscurely is cool) then I'm in. But Im looking at Osborne and Raven's, all I see is what Os says about Elder Gods, Menephos, etc. Do you remember which others? It would be great to know.

For years I've wanted to see a conclusion to the Elemental Workshop. What happened to the Apprentice? What dark practices went on down there, what is elemental ore, how does it work, why does it work? I want more puzzles and magical theory, and insight in to how humans have experimented with runes and ore.

But all anybody can see when they think of Elemental Workshop is the difficulty of 3, and so they say "no more ever again". The Nature and Law rooms are left untouched. Let's open the doors, please, after so damn long.

Not sure if I have posted here before, but I have to agree. I really wish they would end questline in the 5th age.

I am not a fan of a questline finishing within a year, unless it is 2 or 3 quests, similar to Summer's Quests and Void Quests. Those were perfectly fine because they were spread out.

However, Slisk's Endgame, I think could have been a lot better. They rushed it to finish in a year. I am not a fan of that. There was too many quests.

Some of the biggest questlines need to finish.... and soon.... Desert Quest can phase into the 6th Age pretty easily.... Not to mention that is a HUGE area for lore.

However the Gnome Questline cannot and neither can the Pirate Questline. Those questlines need to finish or phase into the 6th age.

I feel that the Gnome Questline should have finished ages ago.

The Elemental Workshop questlines are not important lore wise right now, and there are about 3 quests left, if they continue 2 runes at a time. It can finish over time, but I still think it needs to finish.

The Penguins are a questline that is more fun then anything and right now.... it has no real reason to finish up right now, as there are probably 10+ quests left for it.

Monkeys.... well I am not sure about the. I thought we would get a quest for Marimbo, but they kinda threw her under the bus, not to mention it lead to the Desert, Gnomes and Pirate Questlines.

As for Karamja.... well that place needs a ton of work before we have a new questline there. But we are supposed to be getting the Karamja Gods at some point.
Come the Sixth-Age, the world will need the World Guardian.

What's sad is when older quests are rushed to "get them over with." Looking at you, Plague's End. I know that the dev time went into Prifddinas instead, but dangit Jagex I waited a decade for that quest.

Long questlines in general tend to have terrible endings because it's been so long since anyone, developers included, have thought about those characters, and they've often been through graphical updates as well that make them unrecognizable. I understand why that makes it appealing to make shorter, more condensed questlines, but that leaves older ones in the dust.

We're potentially getting pirate and desert quests within the next year, let's hope they do them justice.
