Wouldn't that be nice though? An all encompassing force of evil that will remain ever-threatening and use chaos to make the peoples of Gielinor tolerate each other, grow strong together, and fight side by side against this evil. I am that villain.

It's a bit different in a single-universe single-world story. Comic books have multiverse to work with. There are always more universes, each of them different, meaning you can blow everything up and still have everything left to blow up. And in those universes, they move forward after the past is defined.

Wasn't there mention a while back from Osborne that there was actually a being above the Elder Gods? Or that at the very least, they had some form of creator? A creator who would most likely be considered above them anyway, I guess...

Still. I wonder if that will ever come into play. It does raise that age-old question though.. The Elder Gods created us... where did they come from? A single, more powerful entity who created a whole race of them... okay where'd he come from?? etc. A
