I could be wrong, but didn't they say the 5th age was over, and the rest of the quests that started in 5th age would end in 6th age, like the Dwarves did? Runescape doesn't need a hero...it needs a villain. An all encompassing force of evil that will remain ever-threatening and use chaos to make the peoples of Gielinor tolerate each other, grow strong together, and fight side by side against this evil. I am that villain.

They did, but they seem to have changed their mind after LoV showed they could go back and finish quests in the 5th age... Although to be honest most questlines don't really *need* to be in the 5th age as much as the myreque series does. Desert, gnomes, pirates and penguins could be whatever tbh.

I have noticed your kind does tend to blindly stumble forward towards danger simply because it exists. What is your word for that?
- We call it being a hero.

Well yeah, didn't they say RoB was the last 5th age quest?

The 5th Age quest are all supposed flashbacks, so any new 5th Age quest you'd supposedly remember then. I think....it's confusing :P

Well that's a problem isn't it? For what does it matter if it already happened. Somebody said it very well earlier in the thread- the end of the story is being written before the middle, and that's troublesome

So, in the lore podcast yesterday, they mentioned they are aware of power creep, so that eases that part of it. But we could still do with 5th age storylines being finished, as well as raising awareness of all the other problems

The current three pillar series are very apocalyptic and full of endgame threats.
I fear the jump back into generic 'tyrant slaying' story-lines will be lacklustre in comparison.

For instance, how often do you fight Dominion Tower bosses and think,
'This monster is no threat, I've defied Gods and chatted with Death himself'.

Once we've stopped a revision, what else remains under the sun?
Sure we have Gods to meet and planets to visit, but will it ever live up to saving the Universe?

Good news for us is that they've anticipated this problem and planted subtle hints!
The shattered portal sword in Guthix's Temple, the Airuts at Piscatoris, the Magisters Journal, and numerous Xau-Tak references to name a few.
