The first version is written in a more text-book format, and I suppose has more informational bullet points, but it doesn't flow like this one. While the original has more facts, this one tells you so much more. I think little tidbits of sequential minutiae are much less significant than something that imparts the full impact of this group's rise and fall, from a place that sounds personal and deeply invested. This version has a voice .

This.
You never were our brightest star, Khazard. 'Vermin slaughtered like lambs'? What does that even mean?

I agree with Wolfie on the fact that it paints the Kinshra as scum from beginning to end. On the other hand, I'm not too bothered by that because it does give the opportunity to show the differences the Kinshra and true Zamorakianism.

That is my main problem with this. I would like for the Kinshra to represent "true Zamorakianism" because if the widest spread followers that do the most interacting with people do things wrong it becomes a "well then why the heck bother" situation because the right version would be the minority of followers which makes it not important (the right way becomes the wrong way if everyone does it a different way).

@Wah this is an opinion issue but I felt that the original version was a fleshed out bullet point and had a wealth of information that was very fleshed out. This version though is mostly flesh. As an analytical person I wouldn't mind a straight up timeline myself though so take my opinion as it is.

Honestly there's no saving the Kinshra at this point. Remember that Dawn was only acting on Daquarius's orders and ultimately he wanted to destroy Falador, not remove the white knights. It could be argued that this is justified, but ultimately it's still pointless and Zamorak doesn't support it.

It's possible to have a good Kinshra in the past, but...that's the past. Right now they're just a small band of terrorists. Honestly, I think it'd be nice to see a hidden village of "true Zamorakians" and see how they live their lives if we want a good depiction on the majority.
Runescape doesn't need a hero...it needs a villain. An all encompassing force of evil that will remain ever-threatening and use chaos to make the peoples of Gielinor tolerate each other, grow strong together, and fight side by side against this evil. I am that villain.

Not really. Shadwell and Sulla were "terrorists" but Daquarius is considered noble by, well, everyone. Depicting Valzin as a follower of the madman Lungrim rather than someone more like Daquarius is quite bad IMO.

Also, Daquarius just hired Lens** to assassinate Dulcin. The thing with the wand was her own plot. Naturally, Daquarius would want to conquer Falador, but I doubt he'd destroy the city where he was born and grew up.
Bizarre Boron Fusswell, scryer extraordinaire. OSRS: POH ideas & RS3 minigames & achievement ideas !

Perhaps you're half right; perhaps we can't win. But we can fight.

Player: What of this artefact?
Lieutenant Graves: The weapon sir.
Lieutenant Graves: The artefact that Lord Daquarius promised would give us the power to destroy Falador.

There's also several parts in the journal to show Daquarius was helping obtain the weapon.

Against my better judgement, I've hired the services of a witch to recover the weapon.

She comes highly recommended by Lord Daquarius.

---

The witch has completed her ghastly ritual and established a teleportation link to the tomb.

We have set up camp, and my men have begun to explore the crypt.

Among the bodies we have found various oddities, but no sign of the artefact.

If Daquarius has sent us out on a wild goose chase, I'll mount his head on my wall.

---

Ironically this passage shows that Dulcin was the one who simply wanted to reclaim Falador

I have received correspondence from Lord Daquarius.

His scribes have finally decoded the coordinates in the holy book we stole from the White Knights during the Siege of Falador.

We've long known that Saradomin buried a powerful necromantic weapon in the frozen north, but now we can get our hands on it.

With this artefact, the Kinshra can reclaim Falador, and obliterate the White Knights!

I believe he is talking about destroying the government and the white knights but not the entire location. Which considering both of those have betrayed him/his order and are actively working against him is not something "evil", nor is looking for a weapon during war times. He might not have even understood how awful the wand is and just assumed it would bring his cherished troops back to life good as new.

I thought that was the reason we oppose him regardless of our faction, because it's "so evil even Zamorak can't condone it". Dawn and Dulcin only mention removing the white knights, which are a dictatorship. Daquarius is the one who is mentioned as trying to destroy Falador as Saradomin warns. My understanding was that the Witch while initially hired by him was more or less going off and doing her own thing as was the scumbag she killed. D most likely sent her in just with the instructions to kill the unwanted element poisoning the Kinshra and retrieve the wand which could bring his soldiers who he cares deeply about back to life so it would be safe to overthrow Falador.

I feel the term "destroy" is open to interpretation as applying only to those combat ready and the government because D's character is mentioned almost every time it comes up as being just and honorable and many people would assume the fall of the monarchy and the white knights to be the destruction of Falador.

I guess that's up for debate, but honestly I could have sworn J Mods say several times that the Kinshra isn't supposed to represent true Zamorakianism. Having them good in the past is fine and could make for a more interesting story, but presently I think that's just fighting an uphill battle. Runescape doesn't need a hero...it needs a villain. An all encompassing force of evil that will remain ever-threatening and use chaos to make the peoples of Gielinor tolerate each other, grow strong together, and fight side by side against this evil.
