He became She, an Elder God. For He was God of Balance, he filled what Mah had left empty and unbalanced for the rest of the wheel...

Already he had been linked to the very ground of Gielinor, hadn't he? Yes indeed! Most , even myself, got deluded by the mourning trees that are the very original trees upon the land. Yeah, just trees called trees! Like a God named God. Silly if you ask me, but who wouldn't and

tut tut miself i'll be on my way i've no time to explain from the bottom of this ocean but in a bottle i find torn letter that inscribes the word ''subconsious'' which could've pointer towards the figuration of how our minds work like so called computers or rather how computers work like our minds - it runs programs, which behind are many tasks and services to keep them going - i've had my squirrels in the background for near an eon to bring this ramble down with hope the ol' folks are up for the true heft of the compose of mine that has finally found way out on it's own~

According to the latest BTS, we will be getting another Guthix memory update which shows some of the darker memories of Guthix. Do note that our data on Guthix is limited, so with this new update we may find more convincing reasons for his fatalistic attitude.

Agree Ptolemos, I think we're going to get a lof of questions answered very shortly.

Shauny read out a lore drop from his latest livestream which suggested Guthix was fully aware that dying would not let him see his family and was aware of what would happen to him - I get the feeling the entire act was incredibly selfish on his part.

But maybe more lore will reflect more on the matter ^_^

Well for one it wouldn't be first time a guardian got fuzzy over certain info, such as does a god lose afterlife or what happens actually. To my puny eye for one, there is no say that if gods had something else instead of an afterlife...

P.S. rereaded my above sentence and think while it's quite humorous it still makes valid stand amongst other bollocks before. ;)

I've always been under the impression that he simply sacrificed himself because of the belief that no god should exert control over mortals, even him. But you may be on to something here. Click here for ideas on exploring other worlds, specifically the human homeworld Teragard. This one's me baby

This is mostly just speculation, but I'm starting to think that Guthix knew what would happen upon his death, that the "see my family" thing was just an excuse, perhaps one he even told himself. I think that he allowed himself to die to fulfill his ultimate goal: to enable mortals to rise up and free Gielinor from its gods (even though I believe that goal is also selfish and wrong).

When he died, his energy was dispersed across Gielinor and helped repair and replenish the Anima (postponing the return of the Elder Gods), as well as giving mortals access to his power through Divination. In effect, any practitioner of Divination is utilizing the raw power of Guthix. The adverse effect, though, is that the gods can use this power too. Saradomin and Zamorak fought over this energy and nearly wiped Lumbridge from the face of the map. Armadyl and Bandos fought a campaign across Asgarnia and Misthalin and caused the death of many (including the death of Bandos, which thrust his followers into disarray, causing more damage).

However, where mortals have been balanced out more, with the ability to access his powers and become divine-like beings and the gods have been killing themselves off in their lust for this power, the World Guardian is also able to access these powers. Prior to the discovery of Divination, the World Guardian already had access to immense power and potential. Power to help bring balance, as well as the power to resist the magic of the gods. This makes the World Guardian literally the only individual in the multiverse that is capable of standing up to the gods, even the Elder Gods (though to lesser effect). Add to that their eventual mastery of Divination and they become something greater:

A being with the power of the gods, the potential of the gods, but with a resistance to the gods and a neverending purpose, thus making them virtually immortal.

To conclude, where the gods sacrifice their afterlife and can be killed by other gods (or mortals, if given access to the Elder Artefacts), the World Guardian possesses a good chunk of divine power as well as veritably limitless potential (perhaps to outpace all of the gods themselves), in addition to their exceptional resistance to divine power. This makes the World Guardian not only the most important being in the history of the multiverse, but it makes them the most powerful as well. While we don't see the full extent of the World Guardian's power (yet), there's a good chance that in the future, they will become greater than even the Elder Gods themselves. And that's to say nothing of whether or not possession of the Artefacts can increase their power over time the way it did with Guthix. ~
