Note, that dialogue may not say that's a 'myth' or claim it to be the origin of such a thing. (I'm not certain, though.)

No there is nothing saying it is but it would make sense that way.

Do you think the revelation that (some of) the Icyene will be returning with Saradomin has further disrupted Mod Ana's plans for the future of the series? I suspect that the Icyene's return was originally planned to be a Myreque specific thing, but it's possible that the 6th Age has stolen the series thunder a bit.

They need to find ways to seal off the bigger quest series into their own microcosms so that they can still follow their own storylines without the sixth age interfering. I had always imagined the return of the Icyene being the myreques greatest triumph over the vampyres, rather than a bunch just showing up from over the border and being all like "hai need a hand?" and then end the war for the myreque. Keep the Morytanian and Sixth Age Icyene groups seperate, this series doesn't deserve to suffer under the interference of the Gods.

Mod Ana you better be taking notes ;)

Mod Osborne spoke about Drakan being interested in the return of his previous two masters (i.e. Zaros and Zamorak), suggesting that the next quest will take place in the Sixth Age and therefore be affected by the return of the gods.

A reminder of what Mod Osborne has (fairly) recently said about Drakan.

Original message details are unavailable.
Drakan is nothing but a distracted noble, his eyes locked on some distant stone. His two masters will soon return, no doubt, and then we shall see where is attentions rest.

[The Myreque series is] Still very much in our plans. Drakan would have a lot to say about the potential coming of the gods.

Note that it is Drakan who Mod Osborne talks about rather than the Myreque or any key player in the series. This is a significant turning point in the series. It sounds like Drakan is going to become a significant player in the Sixth Age in general if he is 'very much' in their plans with a lot to say about the gods.

*Punches way out of the great beyond*

Ugh. I know I said I was going to reply about a month back to things that were already said, but life happened again right after that fact. So I gotta catch up on this thread in the next week or so.

Also, can anyone be so kind as to at least fill me in on what happened lore-wise or with any official information being announced while I was away? It looks like a lot changed since my last posting, and I'm still trying to figure out what it was exactly >_<

I cant remember much exactly since my brain doesn't give me information until it gets asked very specifically, but there's all of the "Above the Lore" podcasts which you can find links to on the wiki, the God Emissaries which give a whole lot of not much information about Morytania but some interesting other stuff.

Other than that? Nothing. There hasn't been any quests or lore updates besides the emissaries, I think the podcasts are jagexs way of saying sorry to the lore community about the depressing lack of content

There's going to be a 'campfire' for Lore q and a's on Thursday, but the question thread hasn't been made yet.

The Myreque series and the history of Morytania is still shrowded in mystery. Some of this is down to preserving the mystique of the story (which is good), but the advent of the Sixth Age will take the series into even darker waters. There is a danger that the story could be dissolved in a larger God Wars concoction, so I think it is imperative that we take every opportunity we can to ask Jagex what they have in mind for Morytania.

For example, it might be worth asking about the Icyene and their role in Morytania. The recent Book of the Gods mentions that the Icyene are coming back with Saradomin. In my opinion, this is by right a Morytania/Myreque issue and nobody elses. As Doogle has said, it would be a big disappointment if the Myreque series had its thunder stolen if the Icyene just happened to turn up to the borders of Morytania like "oh hai want sum help?" as a sideshow to some greater battle.

Alternatively, Mod Osborne has been keen to talk about Drakan in recent times, so it might be worth throwing him another bone to chew on and ask him more questions about him.

What kind of questions do you all think should be asked?
