I had the very strong impression during this quest that the whole thing was a ruse, that some other entity would be pulling the strings, up until we speak to the demon. Either way, it really seems like it was created with a lot of lore in mind, and it's a real shame it couldn't be included. So many unanswered questions:
-Who is Maria really? A house full of 'servants' fears for their lives, yet this house clearly has not been lived in, much less taken care of, for years. What's really going on?
-What was this house used for? It has a full armoury, forge, barracks, plenty of armour - did this house quarter a militia at some point? And for what purpose? Who lived here between Ormod and Ingram?
-Who is responsible for the skeletal portrait gallery?
-The thief has been trapped for nearly a year. Did Ingram put him there? What was he stealing?
-Is the faceless servant real? How could a ghost have the power to remove faces and create such a powerful seal on the building? Is there another force at play?
-What exactly was Nabor's role in the asylum? As a pontifex, was he expected to be a healer, or was this his own project?
-Who scrawled the combination on the wall? It resembles Freneskae script (used on Ritual Marker, Daemonheim, QBD lair, etc), but a bit simpler, and was apparently placed by a Zarosian.
-What is the deal with the mouldering tome? I get that most of the entries are jokes (Jomdack), but could it be that the numbers aren't patients, but years? This could be why there's not an entry at every number, and it would place year one during the final centuries of Zarosian Senntisten. Zammy exiled the chthonians from Infernus, but we don't know the fate of those on Gielinor...
Regarding the dating of the manse - there used to be a good architectural survey thread, but anyway, wattle and daub construction in RS seems to be an invention of the 4th Age, stone lintel the 2nd, and this is consistent with that.
