So, is the house 2nd age? I personally can't see demons being carried through some random guy's house into an asylum, but then again, the entrance blends pretty well with the mansion...

Also, was the woman's face taken by the ghost or the demon? I've never heard of any face-eating ghosts...

I believe the mansion was built over the asylum after the second age.

I don't see why the translation budget should be an issue. If it's purely lore and is not necessary to complete the quest, and it would cost money to translate it, then maybe just don't translate it and include it only in the English version of the game?

I'm trying to think of the words to tell you how selfish, and how much of a bad idea, that sounds. Too... many ways... to say it.

I'll edit this later, when I feel more put together than I am currently.

I'm a little confused as to who killed Ingram. It was probably Ormod, but the dude died with absolute horror etched on his face, and he had done a pretty good job of avoiding him so far. He was absolutely terrified of the demon for obvious reasons, but if the demon had killed him then there wouldn't have been a body. A little more confused why nobody had the sense to just make a mad dash for the front door and never come back.

Glad this has been posted and seriously hope you can get it in-game fairly soon. After all without this book pretty much the entire plot of the haunting pre-monster release is never explained or dealt with and just left hanging with no explanation which is kinda messy and annoying.

I was actually saying over on fan forums how dissatisfying it was that in such a good quest there was such a massive chunk of plot missing really. Nice to know the effort was made to actually fill out the plot properly and it was the powers that be and translation budgets that messed things up opposed to poor story planning!

My question is about the asylum.

What happened down there?

Why was Sene.. the only one down there?

I mean, it had obviously been well populated with patients, and, I'm assuming, doctors, nurses, guards etc.

Presumably it fell/was abandoned with the fall of senntisten, and the only reason it is in such good shape is because it was built underground, and so was passed over until Ormod discovered it when he was excavating a sub basement..? for his cellar. Or he knew it was there...? Why didn't he go down there... and it seems strange that a) the missing component to his spell was on a table under his basement, and b) that he went mad living in a house above an asylum... but I digress.

What happened to the asylum when Senntisten fell? And, more importantly, where is everyone else? Why Was Sene.. the only being there when Ingram went down there?

Was it abandoned and sealed up in the asylum when everyone left? Did it eat everyone?

What Happened in the Asylum?

EDIT: After reading OP change, I have new questions. We now know why the house is dug to the asylum Entrance.

What I want to know now, is which door is Ormod talking about when he mentions a 'Sealed Door' - is it the one at the bottom of the pit? Because it looks like we can tell where the house 'ends' due to the walls, but there is a number of 'sealed doors' still within the house.

Why did Ormod make those doors? Why so secure? Why the symbols for the door, and more importantly, Why the Symbol of Zaros? Who wrote the symbols?

How did Ingram manage to crack the combination door, and the statue door... and how did he open the 'ancient door' which had baffled even Ormod, who mastered magic enough to seal his mansion?

EDIT: Corrected the names, sorry ;_;

Okay, before I answer some of your questions: the names are Ormod and Ingram . For the love of God, they're not Irmond and Ormond.

Sorry. Now. To answer your questions from the bottom up:

Ingram probably found out about the combination due to second-hand information; Ormod most likely made a note of everything. However, it probably took research to open the statue door.

Ormod made the doors with all the keys because he was a nutty nutter, and such eccentric housing design is a common trope in spooky manors.

Similar reason as above for the 'symbol door combination', but ...I'm not sure who wrote the symbols. That is very strange. Though, it may have been Seneci**** (who some of us have taken to calling 'Louis' because of the Aloysius in his name,) who wrote them. Which is really creepy.

The sealed door mentioned is the Ancient Door, (the statue door, as you've mentioned,) at the bottom of the pit.

And we don't know too much about the asylum in general. However, the "strangeness" of the missing component to his spell can be explained away fairly easily:

Ormod had no idea what it was he was curing. That's right, he thought he was cursed. The spell he was working on was a framework, it was an anti-curse spell; not a cure for insanity.

It was the Mahjarrat Nabor who wrote about insanity, and the player combined his notes with the spell to create the cure-insanity scroll. I know, it's amazing.

But Ormod never went down there because ...because. He was probably quite smart enough to know that whatever it was he found was sealed for a reason. So he probably never really tried to open it- however, if he knew what lay inside, he probably would have tried harder.

I really loved this quest. For the first time ever I actually got scared of a quest and getting that "I don't want to go through that door" feeling. I think I kinda jumped out of my chair like 2 or 3 times, and almost screamed like a little girl at one point as well. But ofc... I've always been very sensitive to sound effects, so all the creaking and banging doors and all that had a huge impact on me, so I was 24/7 on my toes :P

But still, I loved it :P
