This post is completely right and you should never believe "doubling". However if are a high level player with a large amount of cash, I have developed a method to scam the scammers. Go the the ge and ask the "doublers" if u can test them. And say if they successfully do the test then you will do your entire bank. Now here is where it gets tricky. If they do the test then u scammed the scammer. DO NOT give them anymore money. If they take it then u lose that money but you are helping the greater good of osrs. Now use the money you may have taken from he scammer and give it to starting players in lumbridge.

Youtuber Killamike86 scammed me for around 1.3m..

Do not fall for this. The Video will say some rehashed line about a giveaway where you must follow the link in the description that takes you to a RuneScape look alike site to "Sign Up". When you input your details they will hijack your account.

Is it against the rules to anti-scam someone? As in they try to scam you, but then you cleverly use their scam against them, and actually end up stealing their wealth? I would like to try this, but I don't want to get offenses on my account for it. I would never scam an innocent player.

Also, there is a 1 trade double scam going around that I almost fell for. The player will claim that they are doubling 4m in one trade. You then show them the 4m, and they place something like 8800k in the trade window. Then, they modify the 8800k to 8000k, as if they had made a mistake entering the correct number. This causes the red exclamation point to appear over their side of the trade window. Then, right before you click accept, they will modify the 8000k to 800k. Because the red exclamation point is already there, this change is difficult to detect. So be careful. Even 1 trade doublers can be scammers.

I would personally like to try anti-scamming someone using this scam, using their same method against them and modifying my 4000k down to 400k, causing them to accidentally double my 400k to 800k. Not sure if it would work, though.

A little public shaming never hurt anyone, so Ladies and Gents, may I present the most recent failures at attempting an Entrana Lure: Rembis heres (formerly known as Bowshutter78) and Hero Viny (who used to go by the name 1st Beast)

They came, they were kind enough to provide a teletab, they earned an abuse report for their trouble. Thanks for the 561gp gents.

Don't ever try to anti-lure a scammer folks. Beat them by not playing their game at all.

Anti scamming against the rules - no. Something you should actively attempt? Definitely not.

Not only is there the chance you could wind up reported and actually made to look like the scammer in the situation, anti-scams/lures often don't work and you end up losing your stuff anyway. Especially when you have some seemingly random person come along and try to explain that they were scammed by this guy and before you are too let me explain how you can anti scam him and get revenge plus all his gold. Then it turns out they are in on it too and the "anti-scam/lure" is actually a part of the scam and is how they set you up for it.

So no, I wouldn't recommend trying it. Also naming and shaming can indeed hurt someone if the person being named and shamed turns out to be innocent. Which is why it's not allowed on the forums. You may want to edit out that name.

Which is why I didn't give an actual username of the person. I simply referred to him as an anonymous player. Thanks for the advice, though.
EDIT: Nevermind, I just realized that last part was directed at Varten*al, not at me.
