Dear Jagex,

Firstly I would like to say that I understand it is the players responsibility for in game actions.
With this being said there is a scam going in game that has affected me. A player called "ignites" had been messaging me for a couple of days, acting friendly. never the less this person was the mastermind behind the scam, where another account called "radios" was involved. I believe these two accounts are the same person.

During this scam at the lava bridge, during the quest temple of ikov, the player multi messaged me about anti scamming. Really this was the scam in order to get a player to believe that they are involved with a anti scam, however this was only to deceive the player in order to proceed with the scam. "ignites" in this situation was telling me about a anti scam, only to be carried out by the other account called "radios". They told me to watch a youtube video about anti scamming, but in the video the real scam was not shown, therefore leaving a player clueless. After the scam from "radios" i soon messaged "ignites" only to be shown my items that had been taken. I feel robbed of my hard earnt bank and time, and feel that this could affect other players that may also fall for this lure. I believe this is a raising issue as i see more attempts of luring. this problem is not good for the gaming community, as they are purely looking to scam other players in other for personal gains.

I would like to hear back from you about this situation,

]I got scammed in corp private room.. Anyone care to replace my tassey b ring and fury... Like i hate the game ruining players lik.......... Something has to be done about thst room and scammers otherwise no point in playing. May just become another gold farmer... Lost my bank anyway

Hello, I have been playing RS for years and I today am totally ashamed to say I have been scammed and a lost some very valuable items. I have been playing OSRS for quite a while now and I have just recently been scammed of 3 items albeit quite valuable 3 items. I see by looking around on this site that there isn't much offer of help on this matter. Has anyone got any idea what I could try and do to at least report this incident even if I can never get my items back. Need some advice, and just so you know I have the name of the player that scammed me. This is a bit sad because I feel now I will have to stop my membership as my account has been ruined by another player, abeit through my shambolic judgement.

Please help guys.

Just to back up my message a few minutes ago, sorry if I didn't give enough detail. I got scammed by basically the same people as Roadman fan did. 2 people, 1 trying to lure me and the other trying to pursuade me to go for the anti lure. The lurer's name is Mandc123. Forgot the other guys name but I can get that when I log in again. Like Roadman fan I got scammed at that stupid lava bridge and lost my Bandos Tassets, fury and Saradomin sword which as you can see are worth quite a lot.

Please can anyone help me with this because like I said previously I will probably have to end my membership now as it took me so long to earn all that money which I don't really want to have to do.

You should have reported them when it happened, that would have been your best chance at getting them punished. Seeing as you failed to act in time it's unlikely you'll be able to. Still if you're able it wouldn't hurt to report them now after the fact, with a little luck Jagex can investigate the account and look for any shady looking trades and if not take action from that alone at least have the account on their radar. The good news is that lurers don't usually stop after one lure, they are a chronic disease to the community which means eventually they will do this again and hopefully be reported and justice served then. There's nothing you can do for Jagex to reimburse your lost items unfortunately. With a little research you can look up some money making methods that are best suited for you and get back on your feet as soon as possible.

I just want to give people a heads up, there is a big time scammer going around named "sombrero", If you see him avoid him and ignore him :)

Thanks so much for this! I wish it were mandatory for every new player to have to read something like this. It would stop a lot of scamming and ensure that scammers are punished. "Let them Bake Pie"
