please note the "set pass.word to... and log out" scam can be thwarted by the double verify account since your email is used to create the 30seconds changing code

but if the scammer has already fished for your email then you are NOT protected

Great Advice, However, I do follow this:

Original message details are unavailable.
just been lured alot of cash :@ . Its all my fault for being gullible but can anything be done about it i.e. get the stuff back?

Unfortunately not. :/ If you report them then you have the peace of mind that you took the fall in order to save other players from suffering the same fate.

Not sure if this one has been posted yet but there's a type of scam I just saw that I've never seen before. The first player finds someone who has significantly more than 5m (or whatever amount) in armour, then asks you to meet them outside the hill giant building. He wants you to drop your items inside then come out and trade him a few items he traded you previously. If you do that, he will give you 5m for a "Video". His friend then private messages you saying it's a scam but he can outsmart him and you just have to drop your items outside the building and scam him back. One of the items he trades you is a teleport. He declines the trade just as you're clicking the teleport so you tele away and he collects your items. The scams seem to be getting a little more advanced.

Sadly, I have seen people fall for even a rediculous scam like this... The way I see it, always remember that gold is usually more valuable than items. It's important to research the item you are buying if you are spending more than your budget. R-S Banker

Many players also use the inacurate prices of the Grand Exchange to their advantage. Some (t) and (g) armor sets are actually worth less than the Grand Exchange street value. Hundreds or even thousands of coins can be wrongfully taken.

Also, the Grand Exchange sometimes experiences drastic rises in price for worthless items. for example, (team cape-# ; selling for +20k). When you try to buy them for 20k (which you shouldn't!) , you will most likely get around 19k back because, in reality, they sell for 1k. Players can use the Grand Exchange prices to make their items seem more valuable than they actually are. Be sure to use the forms and check all prices if they seem fishy.
