Thanks for the advice. I've been playing Runescape since 05 and I thought I'd never fall into a scam trap. Today I was selling 1.5k mage longbows and a guy traded me for them. He said he only wanted 1.3k but he is going to put the price for 1327 of them.. He put 1191k instead of 1911k. I always double check my trade before accepting, but this one I missed and I accepted. I couldn't believe that I was scammed for the first time in runescape history.
edit:
It was tough to notice that number being so close as well.

Yeah, they can be tricky sometimes. I'm sorry to hear that happened to you. Hopefully you reported the player. Then again, they may have made a mistake and accidentally mis-typed a digit, and not noticed.

Early on, only a couple or a few weeks into Old School, I was out by the ectofunctus. I think I was working on the quest for the ectophial.

Whatever. Anyway, some clown asked if he could be me. I told him he could be like me. I was shocked. I didn't even think to report him, because his request was so completely preposterous.

I was, probably, lvl 28 or 30, and the game still had the attic smell on it, it had been released so recently. I didn't have any stuff for him to steal. I'm guessing, had I agreed, you would see my name asking you to visit the websites to buy gold or to swap for eoc gold.

Incidentally, were you aware of the Bump button? It's there at the top of your post, when you are logged in and reading your own thread.

Wondering if anyone here has seen/heard of this scam-

A player takes you to clan camp and has you join their clan, then gets you to drop items with the guarantee that you will get santas and hundreds of mills after you trade them to show your empty inventory, then trades to see that you dropped them. Then proceeds to trade you a decent amount of cash and a single crate or box of some sort that spams your inventory full of the one item. You can't drop or destroy these items. At the same time a message pops up in chat box and will not go away no matter what option you choose. Meanwhile, the player is picking up your stuff right in front of you and there is not a damn thing you can do about it.

Reason I am asking about this is because I am trying to research this scam to warn friends of the one item that mysteriously fills your entire inventory. I cannot remember the name of the item from the stress and confusion of this scam. Is there a name to this scam or is it a new one to add to the books?
