We can see how OSRS devs are giving OSRS players the RS3 they love without the garbage RS3 has to deal with.

In RS3, Jhallen's quest is an embarrassing novice quest that gives players insight into the Mahjarrat ritual when before the Mahjarrat's secrets were given only in whispers.

In OSRS, Jhallen's quest features an immense boss, ties together several loose ends and integrates new and old lore tactfully. Don't wake the muspah? Jhallen dreamt and a nightmare was born.

He must have been dreaming of EoC!

Sorry to burst your bubble and wake you up from Jhallen's dream. Mod Ed has already told us OSRS will follow similar direction of RS3's lore and we are going to have similar Ritual of the Mahjarrat eventually.

Mahjarrat = Dreams of Mah. All Mahjarrat are dreams of Mah, not just Jhallen.

All Mahjarrat came from dreams of Mah. Jhallen is no exception, and we see no where in any of the RS3 lore mentioned EoC.

Couldnt agree more. But then again, this is one of the many reasons as to why OSRS is far more popular than the regular game.

OSRS players in 2023 still dreamed against EoC?

Even die hard OSRS content creator has found out the misconceptions and knew Revolution Mode, which is exactly like Legacy Mode and only more versatile, exists in RS3 for 10 years.

Not only that, Legacy Mode still exists in RS3. Shrug! (as J1mmy emoted). :)

Another headup to you RS3 loving OSRS players, Mod Ed confirmed Xau-Tak is in DT2 already, be prepared to see the Black Hand and the Curse of the Blackstone soon.

On a separate note, even Gnomonkey loves RS3 now.

Logged in to rs3, logged out immediately. Started playing OSRS haven't been able to stop in months. Who cares about rs3 except people who are addicted to micro transactions. OSRS is a majority of the player base, majority of the community. More popular than ever.

Ironically the OSRS players playing RS3 don't care about MTX. Actually they knew about Bond MTX in OSRS too. Many players know they can play IM in RS3 too so much for even Bond MTX.

OSRS is "more popular than ever"? Real world data doesn't tell us so. Even the likes of Gnomonkey noticed OSRS is far from the 173k concurrent players from 5 or 6 years ago. They care about the quality of content of the game they play anyway. Some can tell you the noticeable disparity of updates between OSRS and other games they are familiar is a factor for them.

using google trends the popularity of the search term osrs is on an incline since the release of osrs. in fact people search osrs on google 3-4x as often as they do rs3.

ROFL! OSRS was released 10 years ago, not today. Players PLAY games only in the game, they can't play OSRS or RS3 on Google unfortunately.

Why should people search for RS3 when it is already very popular since 20 years ago? Most people only search for terms they don't know, not that they are popular. :D

Look it's simple man, osrs has more active players, osrs is more popular for content creators, osrs is more popular on twitch. osrs is the more loved game. There's never going to be a day when rs3 overtakes osrs.

cope, seethe, dilate

This popular MMO stats website doesn't agree with you. They have RS3 on #5 ahead of the #8 OSRS despite OSRS seemingly have more daily players. There are a lot of real life stats in the equation in the study of statistics than the one certain person cherry pick.

https://mmostats.com/popular

Google Trend certainly uses different stats too. For instance, OSRS and "Oldschool Runescape" will certainly show you very, very different trends. If you look up "Oldschool Runescape" on Google Trend, you should easily see it is very low, actually even lower than RS3. Note that "osrs" may mean many things other than "Oldschool Runescape". When people searchfor "osrs" they may be looking for Osiris Coportation or "on some real sh!t" among other things.
