Ha! The image of the RS3 Muspah must have gotten into Mod Jerv's mind.

The disgusting feel of a grubby worm which turned Jhallan into a Muspah was actually in RS3 for a decade, and Mod Jerv just has the like mind as the original RS3 artist who created the Muspah art all of a sudden:

OSRS mods are having the same dreams as RS3 mods perhaps. Very interesting. :)

If you have watched yesterday's OSRS Community Consultation stream on the "new" skill, you should have no doubts OSRS players love RS3 now. The OSRS developers and the questions they got from players are mostly on copy-pasting RS3 content/minigames like Archaoelogy and Invention as OSRS's "new" skill.

I actually enjoyed EoC for a short period of time, and didn't want to invest time into OSRS due to the whole "restarting" aspect.

The reason why I did end up quitting was because of the continued overhauls or significant changes to combat and gear. I would test things in PvP with mirrored setups, and the difference between losing or winning was very often something as seemingly minor as an amulet.

Hybrid PK'ing all but doesn't exist in RS3. A lot of what took significant skill was nullified with later updates. EoC really did grow on me, but the updates that came later ruined it. I'll check out the video you posted, OP, and maybe even hop into one of those fresh start worlds, but if it's a bunch of the same-old-same-old, I don't think i'll be sticking around.

Thanks for the post, though, I wouldn't have known otherwise.

E: Ok hold on... when he says PvP is gone from the wildy is he joking, I honestly can't tell if he's joking lol

If Pking comes to RS3 (it is a possibility but not a promise by the RS3 team), I bet hybrid pking may be significant as our Necromancy gear will be new form of hybrid combat and have no weakness or strength against the 3 old combat styles.

EOC with Necromancy will certainly be very, very different than EOC with Melee/Ranged/Magic as the former is focused on auto attacks, unlike the existing combat styles.

If new RS3 pvp content comes after Necromancy, I won't be a bit surprised some OSRS pvper will stand on 2 legs and say EOC is better. ;)

Ok, so I thought you were joking about PK'ing being removed, but it essentially is with the manual skulling or whatever it is. That's crazy.

Why is it crazy when OSRS players love pking even more than RS3 players? I think a lot of OSRS players will be jumping for joy if OSRS pking is like RS3 pking now as OSRS Wildy is dead and even our reigning and two time OSRS Golden Gnome Award Best Content Creator of the Year who rose to fame with all pking content haven't been pking for months.

There are a handful of major flaws in RS3.

One is the Evolution of Combat, homogenizing the combat styles and taking away Runescape's identity. It will continue to get better, but the damage is done.

Two is the NIS New Interface System. Being able to customize your interface is great. However, the interface creates a high barrier of entry that will make new and returning players' stomachs churn.

Three is RS3's lore - becoming the World Guardian and the Gods returning to Gielinor. Turning the adventurer into some chosen one, once again, strips away Runescape's identity and turns quests from interesting adventures into budget Marvel movies. Yeah, they're still trying to fix that and send us into the 7th age.

Four is the rampant microtransactions in the game. Squeal.. oh, Treasure Hunter, offering an xp injection directly into your account via wallet. Solomon's General Store. Predatory events like FOMO Yak Track also show up every few months in RS3.

So yeah, if you take away all that garbage, then yes, OSRS players love rs3.

OSRS players love their slayer helms, which weren't in the game at the time it was released.
They love GWD. They love corporeal beast. They love the staff of light. They love Monkey Madness 2, how it continued Glough's questline in a way that RS3 could never because they were so rudely interrupted by the sixth age.

OSRS players have no problem with the justiciars - they feature heavily in content like Phosani's nightmare and Hallowed Sepulcher. The lighthouse alluded to in Archaeology is also alluded to in OSRS's vampyre series, which is going quite well compared to RS3's version of events. Phosani's nightmare also mentions the eastern lands, which OSRS players are looking forward to absolutely with sailing.

OSRS players get to enjoy the lore of the Dukes, the Dragonkin, without all the pitfalls of RS3. They love that RS3 made mistakes so OSRS devs can rekindle that love without all those mistakes.

After all, haven't you seen OSRS's latest miniquest? Haven't you been paying attention??

Strange Old Man: Yes! Needed it for him, but not to keep! His friend asked him to protect it, but
he made a new plan, a better plan!

Strange Old Man:
The old plan is gone. We're not doing it that way. His friend won't be happy, but it was for the best!

We can see how OSRS devs are giving OSRS players the RS3 they love without the garbage RS3 has to deal with.

In RS3, Jhallen's quest is an embarrassing novice quest that gives players insight into the Mahjarrat ritual when before the Mahjarrat's secrets were given only in whispers.

In OSRS, Jhallen's quest features an immense boss, ties together several loose ends and integrates new and old lore tactfully. Don't wake the muspah? Jhallen dreamt and a nightmare was born.

He must have been dreaming of EoC!
