OSRS was a new game, not that OSRS players were forced to play RS3.

If Jagex weren't going to make OSRS, we would still have other games like Stellar Dawn, Transformers Universe and such. Jagex just gave old school MMORPG a chance and hence we had OSRS instead of the supposedly new school Stellar Dawn, Transformers Universe and such.

Time went by, although so slowly, but time could do so much. Old school MMORPG have run their course, and Jagex is not just creating new games like their own unannounced survival game among many others, but always branching out to acquire and partner with lots of new games.

Those SCUM, Pipeworks games, Space Punks, their own games among Guthix-knows-how-many-more are going to be Jagex's new school OSRS inevitably when Jagex began to ponder if OSRS is still theirs, or some short lived private server crap for another year or so and drive OSRS to become RSC.

One misconception many OSRS players have about RS3 which is poised to be disproved sooner than later is MTX. While RS3 has MTX, everything is OPTIONAL. Unlike MTX in many other games RS3 players absolutely don't need to spend a cent on MTX and can still obtain everything. Basically all MTX in RS3 is very fair... perhaps with the exception of Bond.

Just because MTX is optional, doesn't mean it's not detrimental to the game. Plenty of games have MTX, but often merely cosmetic. Meanwhile in RS3 you can buy 99 in every skill through MTX, how is that fair? I liked the competition of the hiscores before MTX, but afterwards it became about who is dumb enough to spend more money on this game. Ofcourse in OSRS you can buy gold through bonds, but there're plenty of non-buyable skills.

Don't tell us OSRS can't buy 99 in many skills like Herblore with Bond MTX. Don't tell us Bond isn't detrimental to OSRS when you admitted plenty of games have MTX but often merely cosmetic. If you don't like buying 99s in RS3 because there are many games with just cosmetics, you don't have to play RS3 but why don't you go to the games with just cometics and you can't buy even a single 99 in one skill and TBows and such there?

The good thing is more and more OSRS players are aware of the non-cosmetic MTX in OSRS as well as the extra membership they have to play many game modes like FSW and GIM. They are essentially in-game purchase disguised as "membership". The good thing is OSRS players have recognized the MTX in OSRS and they have to play many times more to buy the same instantly glorified status as in RS3, and they are beginning to refuse to be the pots calling the kettle black.

All the osrs players seems unable to understand that rs3 really isnt focused on skilling. Yes we have a new skill coming out but the majority of content is pvm bossing and questing. Rs3 isnt p2w in the sense that even if you do pay money into the game it wont make you good at any of the bosses no matter how much money you pay. I would love to see any of these osrs players even try gw2, I guarantee they wouldnt know how at first, much less having them try something higher end like Raksha.

People are stuck in the mindset that rs is a boring skilling game where you grind the same thing over and over when in reality it's about pvm logs and collections.

Couple osrs creators I like still haven't dropped by even for a bit in rs3 to try it out. Not watching that video you linked, not interested in anything from him.

Not just a couple of osrs creators, but the entire official OldschollRS Twitch Channel love RS3 too:

https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1675695017

They have the artwork of Legacy of Zamorak on top of their Recent Broadcast videos. It may be a clickbait, but at least the RS3 screen generated over 4k views for OldschoolRS already.

We are getting The Tale of the Muspah in OSRS today which started the Ritual of Mahjarrat and then The World Wake soon after... only that we are getting Jhallan and the Muspah in a quest with a different name - Secret of the North.

It is incredibly obvious OSRS loves RS3. We don't need a crystal ball to tell we are going to follow the RS3 storyline and get all kinds of Mahjarrat and Gods back, if OSRS still exists in a couple of years.

Don't forget your superduper new toy - the Venator Bow. It was originally the Bloodletter Bow but obviously OSRS love Venator more so they changed the name... and Venator was the name of the Archaeology artifact we dig out in RS3. Maybe Archaeology is coming to RS3 too. ;)
