Or let's not; OSRS is able to do it without issues because it was made clear from the start that they wouldn't be discontinued, while for RS3 they were intended to be discontinued. When you set things out like that, it's irresponsible to change them if you don't have to (and you definitely don't have to, since they're optional to get for those who don't have them, with plenty of other cosmetics out there to satisfy those people). Not to mention that there wouldn't be much real interest for people to use the discontinued items, because it's the exclusivity that makes people desire them, not the graphical appearance itself, which is outdated for many discontinued items. :P

They should of never been discontinued in the first place , they learned from their mistake when launching it in old school and the items were then as originally intended, fun little cosmetics to wear/ use during the holidays. now lets have rs3 go the same route so that all the community can use the items as they were intendend., the time has come to make them non-discontinued , especially after the huge outcry of disappointment and whining when they rereleased the past events as part of the 2016 xmas event, but you didn't get anything for clearing like when it was playable that year even though you did the event, for the reward.

Besides, as for rs3, its faar too late to make any sort of change for the holiday items as they always been like this and if the polls are anything to go by, jagex don't want to get on ppl's bad side.

Lets just look at how ppl reacted to the sgs poll for holiday items.

IIRC, ppl demanded for it not to happen and low and behold it didn't.

So just because it might be different, doesn't mean it should happen.

I mean I remember ppl complaining over the ghostly chicken outfit even though its different.

the poll passed for yes add them to solmons , so people do want them, the only people that didn't want were the ones that voted no but it was not enough for them to change their minds , no we just need a status update as the majority cleary wants it 58% yes to like to 49% no asd you see from the results the community wants these items especially when majority of them complained about wanting and not getting them during the 2016 xmas event the perfect oppertuntiy to rerelease and well it didn't happen but should of. I see no harm in adding a cosmetic, sgs doesn't even sell items just the cosmetics sso relesese them to solmons does no harm as you arnt getting the actual item just a copy of it, therefore nothing is devaluved the nonsupporters keep their item and the supporters get to show it off everyone wins so just let the items be in the store im sure people would appriecte being able to use their loyalty points on something worth it. if this were to be repolled wed get the same results or even more yeses.

What huge outcry? Seriously, you make it out to be like it left a lasting negative mark to the game for the future, but you can literally never hear people talk about the event outside of this thread... because no-one actually cares. Hell, you don't seem to care either, because your actions contradict your words; if this was such a big deal to you, why didn't you stop your membership subscription years ago? It seems pretty obvious: optional cosmetics don't matter to you either, since you're playing the game anyway and still paying for it.

If you actually want to prove that your words mean something, you should put them where your money is. But as explained above, I doubt you will, which only goes to show how it doesn't matter to you if a few optional cosmetics are discontinued or not.
