I find it pretty ridiculous that you're charging people almost as much as World of Warcraft when they offer a more detailed game in most ways. This game would be worth the price if over half the content wasn't DEAD....

I find it funny that ppl still buy gold premier for a game they say half the content is "dead".

There you go again making statement's not pertaining to the subject.
As old school as a player can be.

at the end of 2015 they had 480 employees at the end of 2016 which is the year they were bought they had 323 employees, so yes they had 157 employees less after they were purchased by the chinese.

It has been reported by numerous websites that at the time of the acquisition (July 2016), "Jagex is based in Cambridge and employs over 320 people."

You can look it up from many places such as Businessweekly, thetimes, Gameindustry, Eurogamer, etc, etc, etc.

At the end of 2015, Jagex was still owned by IVP and other investors, not their current Chinese owner. They did not have 480 employees neither according to Company House. It showed 338. Again, please show the source of your data instead of just a number. :D :D :D

They certainly don't need to increase the fees and I too say it's more to do with greed than to pay the wages of employees.

Corporate greed v. personal greed (company wanting more money is corporate greed, consumer pitching a fit over it costing more because they don't want to pay it is personal greed).

Excuse me, how can you call it greed. Some people on here that have voiced concerns
over the price increase are on fixed incomes. Some already have problems keeping
membership in bonds because of ill health (hence the disability).

I know most people think a little over dollar isn't much but over the course of time
it does add up.

I know for our family we ususally keep 5 accounts in members but my hubby has
already told me to cancel his 2.

For me, I am here till the bitter end or until i really cannot pay for it. I just dont want
the bitter end to come quicker than need be. My concern is new and returning players
will not like seeing that increase and will choose other games instead. (along with the
group of players i spoke on in first paragraph).
The richest person is not who has the most. It is who Needs the least.

Jagex is a for-profit company. I get that, and I understand that MMO's have higher than average upkeep costs. It's the nature of the beast.

I've taken issue with your pricing structure before, and was one of the voices that forced, albeit half-hearted in the very best scenario imaginable, a change when it came to MTX over on Reddit. I was also one of the voices that displayed disgust with your premier club pricing scheme two years ago I still to this day feel those were, and are, extortionate. This is a game that I can leave at any point, and that's what these two situations caused, this is why I voiced an opinion, not because I want cheaper prices, but because I want this game, an expendable commodity, to be around.

I've not sifted through all 45 pages here, but general consensus seems to be exactly the way i've felt. The last three years have been hollow promises and lackluster releases riddled with "samey" content - crater events, "kill this thing until you get this book", but most importantly, in incessant barrage of microtransaction content, even after there was a (as noted previously - half hearted) promise to "look at how we do MTX"

I'm not going to pull a knee-jerk reaction as this does not directly impact me in any way, at least not at the moment. This is, again my voice saying this:
If you're going to raise prices, offer the subsequent increase in content quality. Fulfill promises, and don't promises illusions of grandeur and exciting content if you can't deliver them. Be realistic with your plan. If not, price increases, and microtransactions, while they may help the bottom line month-to-month, will be the death of this game. There's only so much your paying customers can tolerate. "fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me"

Solak is coming with the next update, so far as I understand, content that promises to be "grand" yet on my friends list, in my clan, and throughout the world, the overwhelming majority isn't interested in it.

I understand that you have to find a balance between content to satisfy everybody, but looking at the micro lens, the last three months have been overwhelmingly lackluster.

Deep Sea fishing is, so far as I can tell, largely dead content. I don't ever see anyone talking about it. Nobody that I know actively uses it, but waterfall fishing is still rather populated, relative anyway (relative to the days I remember when it was an absolute nightmare to try and get on world 1/2, and server after server had 1500+ people reliably).

The Magister is, from what my PVM friends have told me, dead content. It's not worth the time invested.

Raids are dead content, though not new.

Even AOD seemingly has petered out. There was a time when I had half my friends list looking for groups, and now people regularly "pass"; when invited. And now we're looking down the barrel of another group boss.

The mining/smithing rework is looking to be a year (more?) beyond projected release date, because you went headstrong through with a plan that your community actively told you not to pursue, then close to release, you thought it a good idea to see if your bad idea actually was (spoiler alert: this is why it's still not out)

As I posted on your "RuneScape monetization" topic back in October of 2017. How many failed and abandoned games are the community of this game bearing the brunt of?

DarkScape. Chronicle: RuneScape Legends (which showed promise, but appears all but dead), RuneScape: Idle Adventures, Ace of Spades, and now we're looking at RuneScape Mobile, which didn't hit it's planned release. If you're going to commit to something, do it. I hope that Mobile is a success -despite that I have zero desire to play RuneScape in a mobile fashion- that it brings in new or returning players, but in all honesty, at this point, I expect it to be Dead on Arrival.
