I wonder if someone at Jagex knows the economical law of demand and supply.

The higher the price, the lower the demand. And that is what i see ingame especially in EOC.
Where is the time the worlds were crowded? Now you can play for hours without seeing another player.

Also the higher the prices the better quality has to be. That's what I'm missing too...
I play far less Eoc now just because I'm suffering bugs that don't get fixed. And I gave up reporting them because it feels useless, it feels like talking to a wall. Do I want to pay more for that? Certainly NO.

I was surprised to see another price adjustment so soon after the previous one. But I was not going to get upset or angry, because I understand that inflation happens.

There is now, however, on The Register, a news item that explains that this current price increase isn't because the last one failed to adequately cover subsequent inflation for a longer interval, but because of an unforeseen event in the larger world - Brexit.

Unfortunately, it does seem that way, particularly given the drop in active membership after the introduction of the Evolution of Combat.

I don't think it is that way. Not only is there new content continually being added to the game, but of late a significant amount of additional content has been made available on free-to-play.

Still, given the additional difficulty in obtaining new paid members a fee increase entails, and the lack of revenue from free players due to the need to drop ads for security concerns some time back, it definitely is time to step back and try to think of a new and different approach to making the game more widely appealing again.

I find it funny that ppl still buy gold premier for a game they say half the content is "dead".

That's correct - As long as you maintain your subscription (with a 14 day grace period), your subscription costs will be locked to it's current rate.

Maintaining my subscription, currently, I am on a month to month subscription. What if after a year, I decide to switch to a yearly subscription? Will I still get the locked grandfather plan?

this game is now as expensive as WoW was back 10 years ago. lets assume inflation so it was in fact 1.5 times or something more than rs is going to be now. its still somewhat as expensive as WoW.

i cant even start to put these 2 games on the same level. WoW in 2007 was waaaayyy more developed than RS right now. it had better graphics than RS right now. the world of WoW was by faaaaaaaaaaaaaaar larger and every update was a HUGE one.

maybe RS is more dense in content such as quests and skills, but besides the quests and economy, its the same boring grinding, only in wow grinding was more fun.
you take as much money but invest faaaar less than other games around.
how the hell do you think people would rather play RS than better AND cheaper games around?

i came back after looong absent and was thrilled at first. but then i noticed that the map is almost as small as ever. the cities and towns are a tiny wreck, so close and on top of eachother that there seems to be no "open space" at all. add on top of that the lodestone network bullshit that takes the point out of teleporting spells, and u get an ever tinier world.
the combat system is a joke. the monsters are as stupid as ever (still cant go around a chair to attack you).

and what responses do i get for suggesting you enlarge the map?! "and what do u need useless empty spaces for?" ; "too much work and effort - better spend on something else" etc etc etc

after so many years and the only real stuff u added are quests and lore and some useless skills, you complain that every """major""" update is too much work, while out there are games like WoW, skyrim, the witcher which clearly had WAY more """major updates""" and WAY more """too hard work""" and WAY """too much investment""" and thats why they are WAY more developed.
adding to that, that after adding MTX and bullshit u even raise the price?! i dont dare to even compare rs to those games, its like rs is a toy-version of them.
you could've done better.

this gets funnier and funnier.
If you play on a reg. basis you know that there are in game polls and the ACTIVE players give their input. The polls have become irregular, but have involved Player input.
An active payer would also remember the poll about "weekly content, update, fixing bugs/issues, updating Graphics" and so on there have been multiple questions. If I remember correctly many said stop with the constant NEW content and work on existing stuff. Updates are STILL weekly and outside of Holidays usually has a bunch of stuff being worked on (PATCH NOTES)

one thing is for sure the rs community as a whole is very impatient, judgmental and seems to KNOW IT ALL.

About the DEAD content: why is it dead? Could it be because everyone left to work on other stuff? could it be that you quit playing rs, Could it be that all the whining Anti EOC players went to OLD SCHOOL?
You want to revive DEAD content, build a group of players or clans to play that dead content. A group of People (clans) can bring back mini Games.
So many of you have and make excuses but a lot of things in rs could be revived by Players bringing it back. The content was NEVER removed, so why are you not working on getting enough interested people to revive it.

ALL I hear is complaining. All I hear is rs is dead. All I hear is Rs should do this or that.
STOP COMPLAINING AND BUILD YOUR OWN DARN GAME. If you don't like the game leave, as many of you say WOW is so much better. Play it then. This is Runescape, it is what it is, it is build the way it is build. No person has the same thoughts, interests, likes or dislikes. I know I am in minority with my Statements, but let me be clear. I have played rs for a very long time. I DON'T always agree with everything, but I deal with it. (RS is NOT my Company- I am NOT in charge) If I get tired enough or disagree enough I will leave the Game. The same choice everyone has. I didn't know People are forced to play and stay on a Game they dislike.

but you and many others ARE COMPARING Runescape to those other Games. This is Runescape and not those other Games. Runescape is NOT managed by the other Game Companies. If you wouldn't be comparing the other Games with Rs you wouldn't be bringing them into the conversations.

Jagex has dug its own grave by overpromising. Want to hear a funny joke? Mining and smithing rework was promised as an update for 2016. Ahahaha.

No but seriously, that's what actually happened. Back in 2015 Runefest, they told us that M&S rework would come in 2016. It's now 2018 and all we've had so far is a beta. People getting upset over it isn't impatience, because Jagex overpromised waaaay up there.

Other overpromised updates include: bank rework, mobile app, Solak... Mobile for instance was meant to be *released* in winter 2017, but has only had closed *betas* so far.

You really can't handle criticism at all, can you? And the criticism directed at Jagex here shouldn't even concern you, so why do you get so offended about it?

If the developers started yelling "STOP COMPLAINING AND BUILD YOUR OWN DARN GAME" every time someone gave negative criticism, the game couldn't improve. People complain to Jagex, because they care about the game, and want to see it do better, rather than coddling it.
