careful....a hell of a lot of games out there that cost 15$ a month so whats 4 extra bucks? and most went free to play after while....

kinda what i was expecting to see when chinese buy up good games then run them into the ground. now trade war with trump and the chinese and wow look at that.. price hike..

As someone whom plays runescape for a couple months and then might take a month break before returning. I think the grandfather system is not long enough. I would have to pay for an increase in membership because I want to take a break or I would have to pay continuously through my break. I would rather less content updates than an increase in price. If the price increase is applied to me because I took a break or went on vacation, I likely wouldn't return. There are some kids that play this game that won't be able to convince their parents to give even more for a game. Personally I feel like you'll lose too many people from price increase that the extra money you make will only even out for the amount of money given by the people you lose. RS3 numbers are already lower than desired and this will lower them even more. I would highly advise looking into the long term effects this may have on the game. Say no to Membership Increase!

All executive decisions come from chinese mining company that owns Jagex. Jagex workers (jmods) are not owners of Jagex, they are just worker ants. If mining company says "Raise prices!" they will or they get fired.

Excuse fucking me worker ant. I was here when they blamed IVP and when Mod MMG announced that it was nothing to do with IVP. I am not talking to the worker ants who are more than likely contractually unable to say anything that may shed a bad light on Jagex. I am talking to the owners of Jagex and the management. Did I mention a name? Stop derailing the thread with stupid crap pls.

I will not be renewing my membership Jagex. And it will not be because of this price increase.

More so, over the past years there has been a noticable disconnect of your company with the players. Yes - sure, you do polls for future updates but let's be honest - it's all a front whether people want to admit it or not (my opinion). If you truly believe your subpar game with subpar updates (comparing to other game options on the market) is worth that much on a monthly bases, that's fine - but increasing prices when you blatantly lied about how you will decrease amount of MTX promotions, when in 2016 you have made record profits, when in the very near future you plan to release RS on mobile, when you have cut your dev. staff by 50% during the growth period etc. is not.

When looking at your current strategy, there is just no justifying increasing (except one: finding ways for more profit) the price of membership for "new" players - when in consideration of other ways of "milking money" from players: RuneMetrics, Wealth eveluator, premium memb etc.). But in addition to increasing membership, you're also increasing MTX, bonds... - that's just over the top.

I feel sorry and simpathy for the JMods who work at Jagex out of pure love of the game, but I truly can't support the company who's vision is only money oriented - at least the majority of it.

I understand, you're a business, so I will be taking my business with your company elsewhere after my membership expires.

You're now only $4 off the major Monthly MMO's out there on the market. Said MMO's offer quite a bit more incentive to play currently than Runescape. 10+ Characters per account. 6-12 different Races to play as. 8-12 different Classes. And they don't have MTX running every single day of the month. Starting to seem really ridiculous, JaGeX. All the while ALSO increasing the prices of Runecoins and Treasure Hunter Keys.

If you don't like the Price (many should be on a grandfather locked in Rate) then be so kind show Runescape how it is done by developing a GAME worth 17 years of content created BY YOU.


While you at it please Tell us how much work it is, how many people you have employed, How much in Taxes you pay, all the Technicalities and Coding that goes into your Game, EVERYTING that has to do with being a GAME OWNER in the size Jagex has grown world wide. As a NOW young Adult show us how it is done.

If you don't know or you are NOT willing to make or try to make a Game of your own either LEAVE RUNESCAPE or accept the changes. Runescape/ Jagex has their Reasons for the hike, some of which they are not ready to reveal. Stop acting like 2 year old spoiled brats throwing a Temper Tantrum.

How, exactly, is Runescape worth 17 years of content? It doesn't even have 1/4th of the content of FFXI which it now costs more than to play. It doesn't even come close to WoW or FFXIV, but is almost the same price per month as both.

Tell us how many workers actually are in the company, how many projects are running, how many workers for each project and why you need that quantity, how many people works on TH every week, how many workers for each crater/farye event. Then why the price increase, or why so many updates with non-priority every week while the main updates with high priority are stuck, how many workers are on these main projects and how many main projects are doing at the same time? we don't know nothing.
