Mature and respectful behavior while keeping in mind that RuneScape is just a game and should not be taken too seriously, always remembering to have fun!!!

A clan in the spirit of Nunc Morere (2010-2013)

Elitist, arrogant and boastful attitudes will always be actively discouraged as they damage the community atmosphere and can make the game unpleasant for everyone.

- We have a fortnightly skilling competition that has four 1st and four 2nd place prizes (based on start xp) so that low level players get a chance to win also;

- We give new members up to two weeks as recruit where they are gently taught our rules and the reasons behind them as the need arises;

- We have achieved a Tier 7 citadel, capping is NOT mandatory;

- We place importance on a healthy life and game balance and welcome casual players;

- While we do help out, we also encourage self-reliance on things that can be easily found on rs wiki or other fansites;

- We will help and assist each other with friendly discussions on the game and best techniques always remembering that people have divergent interests and opinions and that no one answer is right for every situation;

The Rune Lounge started in August 2015 with many members from another clan. For a number of reasons we decided to make a fresh start, with a few key differences. The main idea behind our democratic governance is to avoid having any one member of the leadership team becoming overly dominant or having a detrimental power block. The Clan Leader, Deputies and Overseers are held accountable to the clan for how they enact the clan philosophy.

Our basic philosophy ensures a community where people both give and receive respect regardless of any differences in how much they have played, what their levels are, what they do in real life, or any personal characteristics or life choices. Therefore disrespectful behaviour are not allowed in the clan : elitism, boasting, directed insults, general insults toward any specific groups of people by race, age, gender, ****** preferences etc.

We also expect mature behaviour, such as not acting like a spoiled brat or with infantile humour, but do not restrict clan entry by age, because we believe maturity is not necessarily tied to chronological age.

We don't have game-based entry requirements, but potential clan members are must be willing to be committed to the main aims of fun and direction, and to act in a mature and respectful way to both other clan members, as well as the wider Runescape community. Similarly we expect clan members to support the following principles:

Those wishing to learn bossing with our experienced PvM leaders and team will be required to have their levels and gear assessed BEFORE it is agreed you will be trained. For example you may be required to have a combat level of 100 and at least a set of tier 80 armour or better to learn Kalphite King.

As a clan that is always open to guests, it can take a bit of time for new people to learn our cc protocol and rules/guidelines. We give new members 2 weeks to make themselves familiar with the cc protocol.

Our rules and guidelines come into effect when our clan philosophy is breached, so in the first instance, new members will be reminded of that. If there is continued issues, clan members will be referred to the rules and guidelines.

1 Do not break ANY Jagex rules
2 Do not use the r a * * word - using the common word for * * * u a l violence in exchange for getting wrecked by a boss is not allowed (even if top rs players use it in their youtubes);
3 No racist words - you know the ones, or any other derogatory words based on individual characteristics or preferences;
4 Don't bring R-rated chat into cc, keep it light, not PG or prudish, just light;
5 Don't refer to real life very serious situations (suicide, cancer, other serious medical conditions) - there will always be someone around who may have been significantly impacted by such things;
6 Banter is encouraged but must not be intended to be hurtful to other clan members or sound like that to others;
7 Do not attempt to scam or lure anyone, in the clan or otherwise;
8 Be a good representative of this clan at all times.

DO discuss all things RS - question asking and answering is a key part of this clan - however do not ask about things that are easily looked up or any "how long is a piece of string" type questions;answer questions when you can but think about the person asking and make the information you give appropriate to their levels; if you don't know the answer to a question or aren't 100% sure, don't try to fluff an answer;

DO share jokes and funny stories, as long as they are not offensive e.g. serious medical condition, insulting to clannies, either directly or insinuated, or outright flirtatious in nature;

DON'T push your opinions to the point of being argumentative, on controversial topics (religion / politics / drugs) or game techniques, updates or other aspects of the game - we all have differing viewpoints or skill levels - it's all part of the rich wealth of experience of a community;

DON'T make discriminatory or derogatory comments to others based on their gender, religion, age, ethnicity or any other personal circumstance;

DON'T have one on one chats with people in CC, keep CC inclusive of everyone, also if you are addressing a particular person and CC is very busy, use @ then their char name or nickname;

DON'T dominate or spam CC acting like its all about you;

DON'T use personal names in CC as this makes it difficult for everyone to follow the conversation and is just confusing for guests / new members;

DON'T qc non-significant achievements, i.e. level gains when you gain a level every few minutes etc; No countdowns of things like slayer kills or bonus xp remaining etc;

DON'T trade in CC, unless you are stuck and can't obtain something or have hit your limit - trade at GE median price;

DON'T ask for stuff for nothing, everyone works hard to make gp and no one is a charity;

DON'T brag or act arrogantly in CC, no oneupmanship;

DON'T bring discord chat into CC.

These are like the Rules and CC Protocol, but have shades of grey, it is up to whoever is monitoring cc to determine if there needs to be a reminder of any of them or not. Breaking the guidelines severely or constantly will also result in removal from the clan, as per rule breaks.

In case you haven't noticed this already, don't disrespect other clannies or guests and never direct any insults or swearing at them, even if intended as a joke. Text jokes can be misinterpreted.

Do not pk clannies outside of safe areas unless you have made an agreement to do so, agreements can be confirmed with a clan officer if desired. If one clannie pk's another in wildy and takes their gear and there are complaints in cc, both participants may be kicked.

Be mature about the game, for example: Don't be a crybaby - if you do something risky and you lose stuff do not bring it into cc; Don't repeatedly say you are bored, no one here is responsible for entertaining you; Don't get all emo in cc, we are not counsellors.

We allow swearing, but when it is EXTREMELY overdone we will ask you to settle down.

Don't bring relationship issues into the clan or cc - including siblings, good irl friends and partners or even internet romances.

Do not attempt to profit off clannies by way of selling things in the cc at higher than ge mid prices or by asking for a margin if you buy something for someone.

We encourage clannies to help each other out just because they are clannies - offering to pay people to do stuff for you is sometimes demeaning and can create tension between people, especially if the person paying then expects a certain level of performance etc. Therefore please check with a Coordinator or higher rank about this if you want to offer someone money.
