Can you disable name changing via the website during the name release so you have to actually be in game to try for one?

Wouldn't have to compete with them nuggets using name sniping bots.

Sounds nice even though I'm not really interested, however I do agree that a letter a day is a bit to long however you also have to take into account that the staff has to release all those names to become available which takes time it can't be done in a snap of a finger there could be a, Aa, aaaaaaaaaaaaa, a1 and everything in between so it actually makes sense.

I remember reading from first news post about this. They said they will release banned accounts too, but seems like they wont now. I dont know why, but it is shame since name what I was looking for the whole time is on banned acc.

Why? Seriously, why?
Presumably because it's harder for keyloggers and stuff to capture/hack what you do in the game client, as opposed to on the website.

It's not ''change your name whenever possible'', it's ''when you're changing your name, we strongly recommend doing it in game with the Summary tab and not through My Account on the website.'' Truth is absolute.

If you Google "RuneScape Name Release FAQ" there is this page that was released a few months ago and the following can be found there:

Will you be releasing names of accounts which are permanently banned?


We want to release as many names as possible, which will include some names on accounts which are currently permanently banned. There will be some instances where this won't be the case, for example if the name is linked to real world trading activities, or the name is linked to a high profile player.


So it seems the names you and me want are both been banned for RWT or that other thing, whatever that means.
