Jagex is a British company and Runescape is a British game. It should not be sold off to these other companies who are solely interested in the ££££ only..

Every single company is interested in the revenue, including Jagex itself, their employees need to pay their bills you know? :)

We as players can't do anything to stop the deal, it could or not happen and it depends mainly on the owners, not even JMods can interfere, and lets not be hypocritical, everyone would accept such deal, I wouldn't be surprised if they already did (even when JMods say they haven't), because honestly... for that amount of money which is supposed to be 13 years of their normal revenue (at least that's what I read somewhere on this forums) why would they care about what random people on the internet have to say, its been like that in the past, and its still going on, what's new lol.

All the language Jagex are using is very shady, there's a lot of "We don't expect", "We don't anticipate" and "Nothing substantial will change" (Meaning something will). Its clear Jagex are hoping for all these things but know that these new Chinese buyers could ultimately take the game in any direction they want once they're in charge.

My biggest worry is censorship and them changing the game to align with Chinese culture which would destroy the special feeling of Runescape.

Been playing runescape 15 years now and it's always been a game that i'd always come back to, running home from school as fast as i could when i was only 12, to chop the hell out of a tree, upto returning from tour of duty in Afghanistan, clicking back into reality where i felt safe and coming back to a game where i could feel comfortable talking to my old friends i met here.
It's pretty clear to everyone, that this deal has already gone forward ( the chinese company have already released this information ) within a month, we will see adverts on the side of the screen, selling gold officially from "Jagex", player accounts will be deleted for inactivity and the price of the membership increase vastly, if anyone doubt's this, look at the chinese gaming community, good job on ******** over such a popular game jagex, you have lost a lot of peoples comfort place, where they come to de-stress,

Even if the new company signed a contract stating that the game/pricing will stay the same - the contract itself can only be vailidated for so long, 1 year, 2 years, maybe even 5?? I don't know... But change is inevitable.
