Grats mate! I really really hope I do not have to wait 18 months for Jagex to admit that they mightve made a mistake with banning my account (anoobass5// Pepper) Especially considering I get redeployed back to the middle east in 73 days. (legally cant say where exactly) But with how crazy it is over there, shoot, there is honestly a chance I dont make it back at all. So once again, Jagex, please, you made a mistake perm banning my account. I would like to play oldschool rs, at least until its terrorist huntin season! (your welcome)

No offence beacuse I really do appreciate actually hearing from you guys. But your reponse kind of angers me a bit. You said I admitted to doing the offence, when quite the contrary. I admit to the offence that landed me suspended. (yeah im not perfect but I can admit when I mess up) But I absolutely did not commit any further offences. Unless, like I also said, using my swiftkit client from like 05 is against the rules now...? 95% of the time I use YOUR oldschool rs client. It literally does not even make sense that after getting caught I would do the offence again. This isnt some damn chinese gold farming throw away account. I have played this game so long my old account which I havent touched since like 05 was perm muted for saying youtube. with 99 strength. ONCE AGAIN ID LIKE TO REITTERATE; I DID NOT BREAK ANY RULES (TO MY KNOWLEDGE EVEN AFTER REREADING THE GAME RULES) AFTER BEING UNSUSPENDED. PLEEASE Unban my account Anoobass5 (IGN; Pepper) And for the love of god, look at some of the other people you have banned. If this happened to me at the very minimum it shows your botwatch is NOT 100% accurate... sadly even today. (btw if it was... 60% of oldschool runescape wouldnt be goldfarmers) You can't just arbitrarily ban people and not even manually review it. THIS IS TIME OF OUR LIVES SPENT GUYS! For people like me.... literallly a year of my life.

But seriously, regardless of the outcome, I do appreciate how hard you guys try to make this game up to date and fun. The reason I played for 10 years. DONT GIVE UP ON OLDSCHOOL RUNESCAPE!!

Some things I have noticed regarding my experience with customer service.

1) Outdated automated messages. It is one thing to have the correct info on the Support Center.. but for instance you sent me an automated message when I had to cancel my membership, asking me to email you my feedback and reasons for quitting. I did! I was promptly emailed back saying that you did not use that email any longer. Its like this time and time again. When You unfairly (imo) banned my account you sent me a message informing me that you were aware I broke a rule in the game. To go ahead and appeal and that it was not the end of the world. Your support center clearly states that you do not read/process appeals of banned accounts. You see the frustration?

2) Inconsistency among mods and support center. I wont name anyone but several mods, in both this thread, as well as in the rants section are telling people that if they feel they were unfairly banned to appeal. Once again you do not read/process appeals. So someone posts on rants about being unfairly banned ( happens quite often) the mod sees it and says. I know it can be frustrating to be banned, please appeal it! Then locks the thread. There is no two way discussion, no chance to say.. your website says you dont even read appeals.

3) The fact that you dont read appeals in general is not a good thing. We all understand that gold farmers make 10 accounts at once and go ape****; and that taking time for each one of there banned throw away accounts would take ages. At the same time literally on every single fansite, you can find people complaining about being banned unfairly. There are multiple people on YT who have made VIDEOS to try and reach you. There are people with proof of being banned unfairly.

3) If someone is willing to go through all the trouble to make a video pleading to you guys to just review there accounts; what does that really say about your personal contact with players? There are literally hundreds of comments on these and other videos about your unfairness with banning and people being unable to contact you for help. If someone is looking to play an MMO the VERY LAST thing they want to read about the game is that being unfairly banned is a serious threat/issue. Who would want to invest time of there life into an MMO that may unfairly ban them after 10 years and not ever read/process the appeal? AND IT HAPPENS!! ADMIT IT!

4) You don't take honesty into consideration with appeals. You say your appeals are only for people who were unfairly given black marks. Not everything is so black and white. IE someone gets an offence for swearing, you have proof they did it!... but they meant to send it as a pm and accidentally typed it into regular chat. You put that person into the position of either sending an appeal that is guaranteed to be declined or you force him to lie and say durp someone took my account! Lets be honest that usually isnt the case.

5) Bring back Contact US on the forums. Being able to leave a message on the forum knowing that sometime (hopefully soon) a Jmod will be by to at least give it a look. That is one of the biggest complaints I here from people ingame. There is NO WAY to contact you. I have NEVER had a support ticket answered, and I am absolutely not the only one in this boat. Its not even always bad things we want to say guys!



Lastly I want to say one thing that I love that you guys do now is the polls. As someone who has played this game since wildy was literally wild, to when it didnt exist ( dark ages) it is really nice to have a say in future updates. Keep doing this!! Its sad but I think if that system had been implemented from the beginning Runescape might be a hell of a lot more lively!

But really no disrespect intended you did ask for the criticism........ please dont ban this account as i have been trying to get in touch with friends from my actual account and let them know I will no longer be able to play.


Edit: I want to throw this in here because as I mentioned about the automated unappeal able black marks. 285-286-287-65494729 This is a quick code to a thread in the rants section. You muted this player and gave him a black mark for complaining about gold selling sites. I know you guys do not probably experience it but as a player if you turn your private chat on and walk around a highly populated world you get picked up by the spam bots in about 5 minutes and they spam your private chat with websites offering gold. ITS ANNOYING AS HELL. And while he did technically break a rule DOES HE REALLY DESERVE A FREAKIN BLACK MARK AND A MUTE FOR BEING ANNOYED WITH GOLD FARMERS? Imagine if everytime one of you complained about gold farmers your rs account recieved black marks and a mute... would any of you not be perm banned?? :P


You admitted in your offences Q&A that your appeal system isnt working. And its not. Botwatch isnt working 100% either. Whether you want to admit the later or not is pointless, because general consensus of Runescape players disagree. You guys should stop being so quick to perm ban people, at least with accounts that are not throw aways. Expand the penalty system. (ie; you gave me a 2 day suspension, I committed no further offences but your system still slapped me with 2 major macro offences literally a day and half later and perm banned me.) 2 day suspension to perm ban is a bit much... even if I had reoffended (which once again I freakin did**!!) You should regulate a little more who you perm ban. By all means nuke the throw aways. Nuke the people with throw aways!! If your bot dec*ion is 50% as good as you say that shouldnt be hard.

The people with 10 throw aways and gold farmers are the ones ruining runescape. Im not saying that macroing/botting is okay. IT AINT! People are being blatantly scammed every day guys ban the scammers, ban the phishers, ban the website adverts. BY all means do ban everyone that macros. But maybe be a little more real about it. If its a real account that someone has been playing you should cut them some slack. Most of us playing this game have been playing a long time, its slightly harder to take Runescape seriously when on average there are 15k people playing oldschool runescape. 25% bots, 50% people afking mage, 25% people randomly spread out that are actually playing. Even with rs3 there are only 50k. You also need to realize that playing oldschool runescape means just about anything you do from wcing trees to grinding you are totally surrounded by bots. Every world in lumbridge has a person spamming about gold swapping rs3 to oldschool. Most of the people merching now require you to 'specify item and item quantity in public chat.. dont pm! they play 24/7 making mills same world, same bank, day after day after day. Some are perm fixtures in the bank basically. You minds well make them an npc. NOW this is not excuses of botting, I am simply pointing out the atmosphere of oldschool runescape atm. Log into once in awhile guys!

Secondly just offer shorter expiration dates as well a wipe out date for minor offences. IF someone swears send them a letter give them a black mark that expires in a month. You dont need to mute them. Or perm mark there account for swearing... or for ranting about gold farmers and there website spamming. That will save you headache and the owner too! No need to even appeal just like a hey you need to be a little less vulgar heres a warning dont worry no big deal. Eliminate perm mutes. no one wants to play this game without being able to talk, its the same as a perm ban effectively just easier to earn.

Wow – that’s a lot of passion showing through – let me do my best to answer your points/questions, and let me say apologies in advance if I’ve missed anything – you’ve written rather a lot, but I’ve tried to pick out the main points

1 – Outdated Automatic messages
Thanks – I’ll ask Mod Mixx to take a look at the ‘we don’t use that email any longer’ process, but I think that’s fixed now.
As for the message regarding appeals, if you take a look at the Offence System Q&A, Quick find code: 14-15-216-65495072, you’ll see my acknowledgement of your point, and I’m working with Mod Pips and others to get changes made

2 - Inconsistency
I totally get it – I’ll make sure all Jmods are crystal clear – not everyone works in Customer Support, so they might not be aware

3 – Unfair Bans
I hear you, and commented extensively on that in the Offence System post and Q&A. One big point for me to make here is that we’re investing time and effort in detecting offences made when the owner is not in control of the account and taking action accordingly.

4 – You don’t read appeals for swearing offences
To be honest, I’m not that bothered about a bit of swearing – that’s what the chat filter and ignore function is for – I think you’ll find that we take a much more common sense view on the language used in game these days (in contrast to 4 or 5 years ago)

5 – Bring back Contact Us on the Forums
There are links to the Support Centre on the forums, and I’ve acknowledged that there’s a job to do in some areas of the Support Centre to improve the flow towards getting an answer, or, where there is no self-help option available, to contact us.

By the way, I’ve checked the inbox for this account, as well as for contacts from the emails associated with this account, but I can’t see any tickets from you at all – are you talking about tickets from a different account or email?

6 – Eliminate perm mutes
I can’t eliminate them, all I can say is that we double check all perm mutes applied daily, and only where there is a serious issue will we leave a perm mute on an account.
