I agree with this so much. I feel like if someone really wants a particular name, they'll try it. Releasing giant lists seems to me like it would not be such a great idea.

I also agree that a list of names should not be released. This is another thing that outright encourages name hoarding because it's so easy to do. In fact you're taking out a big step in name hoarding: thinking of names to hoard. It's much easier to look at a list and think "someone may want that name" and take it.

And because bots who instantly take names are still an issue, I'm thinking there could be some sort of reservation process. Allowing people to use a bond to "reserve" a name for any pending releases.

This is seriously a bad idea, especially after u went through all that trouble to make old players come back with legacy mode .

The last thing they want to see is their names being taken.
Now then,
why on earth do u want to release the list publicly?????
You should have let the names loose and only let players who stumble across it take it,Please ;_;
There will be people scrolling through these lists and changing names as they please , so there should be almost no chance of actually coming back to the game to see ur own personal name actually available to just choose again.

Please Please Please reconsider this idea

Imagine a long time player logging in after a while to see all that remains of his original name is painful feeling typing it down in the login page..

6 months time is pretty low, i know friends who play only every year during vacations
1 week notice is very short aswell, u cant expect people who havent logged in in ages to log in 1 weeks time

Yes because having a name on an account which only logs on/plays a couple times every year is very fair, isn't it? And active accounts shouldn't be able to get it... Riiiiiight....

I only want 2 names, one is sadly from an active player, but the other name I have wanted ever since 2006 and it has been annoying due to the fact that the player with that name havent played since 2006!
