I don't see how those who "snipe" names for future sale will be hindered from this name clean-up. As soon as they see the character names become available, they will launch their programs that check the availability of names and register the accounts immediately; thus hoarding the rare names for future sale as mentioned by others who have contributed to this thread.

I cannot see how a regular player could grab a rare name when they are up against a program that instantly grabs names as soon as they become available. To fix this, I recommend that Jagex set up a system so that accounts that are at least 3 weeks old can register/change their names to one of these names. This seems only fair to allow players to get a fair shot.

Thanks for insight Balance, guess I'm going to get off for a while then, did NOT wanna miss this lol. By any chance have you started sending out e-mails before today? I don't want to miss that one name I want expecting it in 7 days but it gets released in 4 for example :P .

In a thread they replied to me, they are releasing tens of millions of names. I doubt it would just be one click lol.
Well I can understand that but surely they do not need to be all listed, rather just let people find them out for themselves :P
Hundreds/thousands of people all searching a database of many millions causes huge server load, we'd rather publish a list for people to read through than have them searching through the tool!
I guess that makes sense, in that case would be nice to have some sort of order such as alphabetical. Many thanks for swift replies :)

Please also allow names that are locked/deleted accs. Also, put some mechanism in place to not allow new accounts to make name changes to prevent hoarding, or limit account creation to maybe 1 a day from an ip address. Something to prevent botting scripts from mass creating names and then selling.
