We're finalising those details still. It's being done in batches because there are many, many millions of names which will be released!

All names are rare in the sense that there can only be one character with each name. It's not the end of the world though, you'll still keep your awesome name!

Most inactive players who have lost membership and are giving the game a break sometimes come back to play years later. If they find their name has been forcefully changed because somebody else has it, then it may make them less likely to want to stay.
Exactly why we are sending players an e-mail to give them some notice first!

What happens to those who are inactive for some time and then try to log in? Will they be prompted to change their name? What if their name is still not taken, will they have to change? What if someone has old account without email?
Before the names are released, we'll send them an e-mail (if they don't have one registered, they won't get an e-mail) letting them know what's going to happen. When they log back in, they'll be prompted to change their display name, if the old one is still available, they'll simply be able to select that one again.

In a thread they replied to me, they are releasing tens of millions of names. I doubt it would just be one click lol.
Well I can understand that but surely they do not need to be all listed, rather just let people find them out for themselves

Hundreds/thousands of people all searching a database of many millions causes huge server load, we'd rather publish a list for people to read through than have them searching through the tool!
