I cannot see how a regular player could grab a rare name when they are up against a program that instantly grabs names as soon as they become available. To fix this, I recommend that Jagex set up a system so that accounts that are at least 3 weeks old can register/change their names to one of these names. This seems only fair to allow players to get a fair shot.

The names we release aren't available for new accounts, they're only for members.

What will happen with banned/locked accounts?

It ignores the ban, and simply counts the time since their last login (which would be the time since the start of the ban).

Definitely add something which prevents any account which has been created within last 30-60 days before the name was released, including members, from being able to get it so people don't just horde names again. This would make it so those who have been watching an inactive display name (which meets the criteria for release now) for 7 years can get a chance at it. Its just another way to annoy people just to make some (cant say it because rules) happy
"Look guys I don't have completaly ordinary name, im special right? Right? G-guys why are you not jealous, im more special than you".

But what will happen to someone returning to RS? He types his login and ********, but because someone else took his name, it will say his ******** is wrong. He assumes he got hacked and doesn't return.

But don't try to fix autocasting bug in sinkholes or other gameplay problems, the important thing is to steal old names from old characters.
