Its just another way to annoy people just to make some (cant say it because rules) happy
"Look guys I don't have completaly ordinary name, im special right? Right? G-guys why are you not jealous, im more special than you".
But what will happen to someone returning to RS? He types his login and ********, but because someone else took his name, it will say his ******** is wrong. He assumes he got hacked and doesn't return.
But don't try to fix autocasting bug in sinkholes or other gameplay problems, the important thing is to steal old names from old characters.
Your login name will still be the same.
Really? At least thats something.
Yes really, none of your login details will change
plus - all players who may have their names removed will be sent an email to let them know
This bit is nonsense: So you're publishing a list of names that you'll release? A programmer will just have a program with scans the names and takes it within a few minutes of the newspost. The names would then likely be sold and honest players miss out. Again. Bad move. Don't publish those names whatsoever. It then becomes a lottery of being logged in at the right time and right place. Exactly like the current system where there is still a lottery. So really, nothing has changed. You made it easier for hackers to get names and rwt them and you added another thing for bonds so that you get more money.

So how will the name batch* be divided? Alphabetically? Randomly? How many on estimate are you going to release in a batch, and approximately how long between batches?

Definitely add something which prevents any account which has been created within last 30-60 days before the name was released, including members, from being able to get it so people don't just horde names again. This would make it so those who have been watching an inactive display name (which meets the criteria for release now) for 7 years can get a chance at it.
My 3 letter name was sniped some years ago when the name change update happened. I was inactive at the time and with the crap account security during that time my account was hijacked. So i'm guessing people who originally got their name as a log in name (since classic for me) doesn't get a few days to have a chance to get it first before it can be thrown out for any ******* with a program that can steal these names? lol
