this is a horrible idea... not everyone has a smartphone -.-" i dont get service in my area, so buying a phone would just be illogical. i'm FOR SURE not the only one in this position.. leave the JAG and add this as a secondary security feature for those who do have a smartphone.. I don't download any 3rd party runescape programs, and am well aware of how the internet works by now (phishing sites / etc.) and my pass is def not guessable, having said that, i have been hacked before. feeling safe with the JAG, now realizing that it's going to be removed, F me for being a little upset over this ridiculous news, right? Have a little common sense, jagex.

I had my account protected since it came out, never had trouble. Today, when i came home from school, i switch on my computer, see that the authentificator is out, and want to set it up, just to get the message: already active. Instantly, I get a bad feeling, and log into my account, just to find my bank cleaned, a few hundred mil gone. So someone hacked my pw, wouldnt have been a problem with JAG. You release a new update that enables someone to use my ******** to go around JAG and clear my bank? Doesnt make me happy. Now with almost nothing, i have to start with 133k cash, no food, only ovls in my bank, and no gear. I dont really get how this update brings more security with such things happening.
Hoping for response and a fix for this

I completely agree. I understand how to keep my own computer safe. I don't go to sketchy websites, and I sure don't download random material that I don't trust in the slightest. I don't have any way to run authenticator, and I'm perfectly happy with JAG.

I see two problems with that whole issue



1) Jag hasn't been disabled as of yet


2) if the new system was activated how did you log in on your acct because the new system is linked to your other device and then linked to your comp so how did you get the 6 digits to even log in.

Just let us keep JAG and have the Authenticator on the side IF WE WANT TO CHANGE. I think that's the idea. They only want members who have money because they intend to make it more expensive. Never mind the fact that they probably make millions each year, if not more frequently. The old staff cared. These new as****es don't. The runecoins, the 'bonds', and now this. But don't worry. It won't be long until they fail as a business, because once we simply can't afford a membership anymore and the bond buyers can't buy bonds anymore they'll have to either go back to the old things or close down.
