Why should I fake it? I know Jagex wont give me back my stuff because they cant I just want to make sure that this doesnt happen to more people. I still have chaotic stuff, my harbour armour and tons of ovls, so i will be able to rebuild my bank, but this cant stay like this.

I saw many people asking including me for JAG to be kept, in my personal opinion, the only way we can keep JAG protection, is if no one joins this Authenticator thing. I don't agree with it so it's my way of protesting. Or else put this on the voting polls, let the players decide what method of protection we wish. Seems fair to me that way, not the way jagex is implying.

Within five minutes I had issues with authenticator. Not a good sign.

Tried logging in with facebook, authenticator came up and froze on top of a blank login box. When I tried disabling, the code was never even sent to my email. Finally, I figured out the following:

First login won't work if you try to login with Facebook. I assume this is true for Google account as well. Type it all in the long way (if you can get the client or site to load, of course), then check the box to remember it for 30 days. I assume that once it's remembered, external/linked account logins will be enabled again. Though I'm not as secure with the ability of the client actually connecting again to try out my theory completely yet...

Sorry this is a bug with Authenticator + Facebook login combination. We're working on a fix for this now. Mod Rascasse

While i agree with the people complaining to a certain point, I dont see how this many people dont have some type of an apple device! or a smart tablet.

I am a poor college student and I have a smart phone, ipad, ipod, etc. I work 40+ hrs a week and have an internship. I hear a bunch of excuses.

You don't have a smart phone, that is ok! but not even a tablet....come on.

Pathetic. Maybe you are spending too much money on the game, instead use that to buy an Apple iPad.

Tired of all you complaining. Move to WOW if you dont like it.

Thank you. Prompt response restores my faith. :D I did just finish submitting a bug report in-game because I figured designated channels are usually best, but good to know that you all are already aware of (and are taking care of) the issue.

I think you guys should just sell permanent authenticator devices, Like another leading MMO company, who shall remain nameless. and make the out-of-game authentication device buyable with in-game bonds. (and their devices run about $5-*10.)

The alternative is to not shut down the JAG.

Because making account protection only available to smart phone owners is foolish.

Again just blatantly disregarding every concern that doesn't involve how to use this authenticator.

I'd feel ashamed and embarassed to be working for Jagex right now, much more so to be showing my face around here adding insult to injury.

You think in a few weeks before you shut JAG off it'll give people who don't have phones or methods of using this sad excuse of an authenticator magical methods of using this authenticator? No. You'll scrap JAG and leave your players out to hang, and spit in the face of each player sending an e-mail about a breached account and lost items.

I really wish the mods/dev's of this game could experience the feeling of logging on one day to see nothing. Experience the gut wrenching feeling of e-mailing for help to get told their account was breached from Isreal when you're located halfway across the world. The experience of them telling you it's your fault and you absolutely must have done something you shouldn't have, when that simply isn't the case.

This makes me sick. ^-^
