There is no point in polling this community about changes. There will never be any changes doing it that way. People would rather play the same stale game for some mind blowing reason. Content to bring this game more in line with other MMO's makes sense. Otherwise why play this game when I can go get more content from other games? Especially since nearly every new MMO is coming out F2P... EOC was a change to the core gameplay which understandably shocked some systems, but it is far more entertaining than the old style combat. I have played more consistently since EOC came out than I ever have over any account and I started on this game back in '02 when we were nothing but flat people with crazy colored shirts and pants running around Lumby, Fally, Varrock and Al' Kharid. What is the point of playing this game once you cap out (or any game for that matter)?

Nothing would get changed? Wrong. Look at Old School. Stuff is changing there and it's completely player polled.

I don't understand the fuss about voting no. Unlike other major updates this has a toggle switch. Turn it on you compete in prestige mode, turn it off then you revert back to normal mode with no harm done to any of your levels or xp. This would have been the first update with that kind of switch. Imagine if you could Turn off EOC and return to the old combat system, or toggle back to the old interface. This would have allowed that.

I voted for the prestige system.

Despite the fact that I have no intention of ever using it.

As for EOC. I'd keep it for pvm and go back to the old system for pvp in certain areas e.g. SW, CW, wildy etc.

Yeah PvP pre EOC was the awesomeness. :')

I think it's about the fact that 99s won't feel like a great achievement. Since getting 99 would mean prestige 1 and there'd be players with prestige 100. :P So no one would want to train skills for the sake of reaching 99 and be one of the best players.

Yayyyy, glad it didn't pass. Prestige was not the answer. The answer is to leave it alone. Hiscores is fine as it is.

No it isn't..and if you want to hear my arguments as why it isn't look back through my profile on this thread as well as the Dev - Blog Prestige.

But just to sum it up:

1) Current high scores only reflect order of achievement not who necessarily put in more work.

2) The past deserves it's recognition but people are focused on the now. No one wants to watch the first movies that won the Oscars, they want to see the latest blockbuster.

So to that end: Keep Current High Scores but as secondary to a new high score system that allows for fair..endless competition.

This is my idea.. (CONKER made a good thread about it; QFC:185-186-939-63062110)

What about releasing Mastery capes, without raising the skill cap to 120 and that players have to start from scratch.

Basically when you reach the Exp required for lvl 120 (as in dungeoneering) OR 200m in a skill, you can get a cape similar to the Dungeoneering Mastery cape.
This cape does not have to have any specific stats. This is pure for style/accomplishment.

I think it will give alot of players motivation to get high exp in a skill that they enjoy training,

thanks
