I feel so embarrassed for Jagex. This was a piece of content they were so confident would be successful and well-received by the players, when in actuality it was unwanted by a majority of players.

I'm sure they were just as confident about the impacts of Eoc, NIS, SoF, and SGS. But what if they had made polls for all of these as well? It embarrasses me to think of how inaccurately Jagex perceives their ideas to be viewed by the players.

I have some suggestions:

An area or minigame that is only open to players who have a 99 in a certain number of skills. I mean, we have the acension dungeon that requires at least 81 in slayer...

This could also dovetail with a new skill. I've been thinking about skills, and possible additions. What about a new combat skill? Something that adds to/supplements the others - calvary maybe? Melee, ranged and magic could all be done from horseback. Start out with only being able to ride the gentlest of ponies, then work your way up (training in the new area) to riding the mightiest of horses at the highest levels? Use horses as a method of faster, long-distance travel perhaps?

I'm sure there are other ideas from other people about new skills.
My motto is to be nice if I can, but also to not suffer trolls.

My point still stands skyman. Comping and maxing would be nothing at all compared to 120 all skills, you, I, and anyone outside of well beyond 2b xp doesn't stand a chance of getting 120 all within the reasonably expectable lifespan of the game considering how far we have all gotten in how long we have already been playing the game.

Even if there is no specific content to be made unavailible from 100-120 in skills whose xp rates were designed never to go beyond 99, you are still BETTER at the skill at 120 then you would be at 99. The best example to use for this would be attack. 120 attack would make a far superior fighter than 99 attack. Refer to my previous posts about how this ruins the game for all but over 2b and 16 hour per day guys who want to remain relevant without sacrificing their souls at the altar of Runescape for 24/7 gameplay.

For more details on why this point stands refer to my older posts (two or three posts ago I think?)

That said I support 200m capes as that is a VANITY thing and not a PRACTICAL thing. I strongly advise that whatever they do be more of a vanity thing and not have any tangible in-game advantage over 99's. This will keep anyone who isn't a top 50 player (which is almost everyone) their ability to still able to experience all game content while giving the high xp players and specialists their prestige.

I want to experience all runescape has to offer and I think this is a common sentiment among the high level playerbase at large. So what I think would be a good solution is something cosmetic to show off your xp beyond 99, but 120's is not the solution.

Unfortunately, you don't know why most people voted yes or no. Part of it was not explaining Prestige correctly. A big part I believe though was saying that xp already gained over level 99 would not rollover in any way. That just rubbed many, many people the wrong way even those that supported Prestige for the most part.

Anyway, I think a good method if you must remove level caps is just do that. In the high scores table there are no level caps. Use the prestige system to simulate as if there's no 99 cap nor 200m xp cap in the skills. So each "level" now is a prestige point but still looks like a level. At level 150 (ie 51 prestige), it takes 200m xp to gain every level after that.

In addition to overall high scores, player rank first by a person's lowest skill level. Got 115 in all skills? You rank above someone with 120 in all skills but only 110 agility. This'll make players continually level all their skills.

And all xp rolls over in this new system. Simple and follows the old system for the most part.

Personally, I liked the idea of players starting over at level 1. I didn't like there being no rollover. What Jagex could have done was calculated how much time/mouse clicks it takes to go from 1 to 99 versus how much it takes to get the same amount of xp as a 99. That ratio (different for each skill) would be the rollover value. Rollover would have a 3 month window though before it is removed to prevent abuse.

Looks like the economy will always be stuffed.
simply make my skillcape look better as i gain exp, i've already suggested this in a post months ago, e.g level 1 fletching cape 13.034m, level 2 fletch cape 26.068m ( looks better, level 15 fletching cape 200m exp ( looks similar to completionist cape but with fletching colors, and the fletching icon.

I was really interested in prestige reason being, is players who had got all combat skills would have the chance to use some of the lower level gear that wasn't in the game when they started playing, e.g 60 range D CROSSBOW, this update could have really helped the rs economy reason being is it would be like recycling, players will level up buy the low level gear, and materials such as oak logs, cowhides, green dragon hide Armour etc and because most players are rich they would only be spending money as they prestige instead of the money making option, e.g getting 99 prayer 5, would be a huge loss around 1 bill! so over time you would see a'lot less money in players money pouches and the economy, this along with bonds would stop players thowing the cash at the ground and not caring about a loss, Jagex could also tell is more about this prestige system and what effect is could have on the game, maybe tweak is a little and do another poll. I also expected the poll to be on the main rs page, instead i had to go looking for it.

I really don't care much on what they do next even though I voted YES :D , But the only thing that bothers me is getting 120 in all skills and I really hope it doesn't happened. I think its a really bad Idea in my opinion.

NO SUPPORT WHAT SO EVER FOR THE 120 SKILL IDEA.

I like the idea of making skills more open ended and I voted for Prestige (though I only have 2 99 skills). But I believe there should be more of an incentive for players to Prestige. No one likes to have to start over again from nothing. But if you could alleviate some of that pain by offering substantial rewards that allow players more individual choices.

Lets say when someone Prestiges a skill you give them tickets or points to spend on one time use items. Nothing that would effect the in game economy. Like Insta-kill darts or even non trade-able bonds. By Non trade-able I mean they can not be used to obtain wealth or items in game. But they would offer spins, runcoins or yes even 14 days membership time. For that matter you could make the non trade-able bond give half of what the trade-able ones do. But give every player a choice of multiple different prizes for prestiging a skill. Emotes and Cosmetic items should be included as part of the overall reward.

@ Battle Beef

Even when skill capes came out, there were 2 groups of people; those who already had 99 and instantly got the reward, or those that thought 99's were impossible. Today, 200m's or lvl 120's may seem impossible to most people...but they are much quicker and easier to get. They'll only get easier to achieve.

I have 5 lvl 126's myself, and I wouldn't mind seeing all lvl 120's, even if I know I won't be playing that long. At least it'd be something to strive for...more than the pointless new skills that come out, or minigames that nobody plays. With 120's, Jagex can create more content, rather than content that just makes the skill faster (runespan/warbands).

In addition, at least it'd prevent so many people from achieving the new comp, and with that, there'd be more uniqueness with stats.
