There seems to be alot of talk about making 120 skills...and yes i could envision the pros and cons...but yet its something a vast majority of players would like to see implemented...I being one of those.

Careful, now. "Vast majority" is a dangerous phrase to throw around without statistical backing.

120 skills have been discussed a lot over at Jagex HQ, from what I've heard. They're torn among themselves and unsure where the majority vote among players would lie. In the previous thread about the prestige poll it was stated that, if Jagex were to seriously consider implimenting 120 skills, they would definitely run a poll first.

So let's hold off on using the term "vast majority" until said poll comes to fruitation, if it ever does.

The lvl 120 cape stands alone by itself and was implemented when the skill came out...true...but someone refresh my memory as to why that was done to begin with?

Because Dungeoneering was too large conceptually to cram into 99 levels. They expanded it to 120 for the sake of more fluid leveling/floor unlocks and scaled the experience to suit its level 120 nature. In actuality it doesn't take all that much longer to get 120 dunge than it does to get 99 in some of the slower skills. Also, as dunge is essentially the cultivation of every skill within one skill, it makes sense that it would have a higher cap. Consider it the endgame of skilling.

Increasing other skills to 120 would not accommodate the same scaled xp as dunge which was designed to have a 120 cap. It would take ridiculous amounts of time to reach 120 in any of them. It would be a bad time for all involved.

perhaps a recolorable trim on 120 cape for each skill for the my cape matches my armor crowd, perhaps a choice of emotes the cape can perform or a skill spot just for the 120 crowd the cape teleports you to it maybe all of the above so the 120 crowd can show off the elite skill level they have earned the 200 million xp would unlock yet 1 more special reward and when all skills were maxed at 200 million some true god armor and weapons so you can take on the gods themselves

Thats it! thats the solution! A weekly high score system that resets and gives everyone a chance to prove their worth...and if you didnt make it one week...you have a chance at the next week.

Seasonal xp-tracking high scores have been suggested more than a few times and a Jagex mod actually confirmed that they're currently in development on the previous prestige poll thread.

Yes, it's a fantastic idea that will allow for infinite competitive skilling. I'm glad it's in development and eagerly await its release.

I am glad prestige will not be implemented. There are other ways to introduce aspirational content which would have real benefits to levelling and not devalue the effort players have already put into levelling their characters beyond level 99.

For example, daily, weekly, and monthly high scores, consecutive high scores for who can stay on top of the daily, weekly, and monthly high scores the longest, etc., and while I am not sure I want level 120 in all skills, level 120 is an attainable goal with potential new unlocked content which recognizes the work I have already put in and the XP I have already gained, which to me sounds better than prestige where there is nothing new unlocked and is not completable.

I want something which unlocks new content, is achievable, and which has a point where I can say I have reached my goal.

Seasonal high scores sounds good two, maybe every 3 or 4 months, Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter.

And every four years another Olympic style event.

Remember the first day you started playing RuneScape? Did you either join the game to compete, socialize or explore? If it's not compete, then the winning option should be the starting point of this discussion and...
